Got hosed right there. King with a perfect pitch to finish the 3rd and ump is caught sleeping. Shoulda been out of it, but two hits later he’s given up 3 more runs and gets pulled.

While I don’t disagree with your points here, not like VPI, NCSU, or UNC have any big wins either. Hell UNC has already lost 2 weekend series.

Yeah it’s actually better for your RPI to lose earlier in the season b/c half the value comes from opponents’ win % which is volatile early. Agree not worth using it to draw conclusions until you get a lot of “cross pollination” between teams. I’d assume lack of East/West games would just...

Southern is expected to be good again this year. That could end up being an important resume booster down the road with out two of the top 4 in our lineup.

Yeah, Collins was considered a great recruiter b/c of what he did at Bama. Key a great OL coach as well. Hell Trent Richardson almost won a Heisman while being one of the worst NFL RBs in the league during his short career. Gotta be weary of people being elite when surrounded by elite.

Does this take into account tv as well? I imagine some of the inflated MLB duration is commercial breaks that other levels don’t have to worry about? Or does tv work around the game flow for mlb (unlike football)?

After cruising the fsu board, they’re basically all in on Link. Ramsey’s name was floated, but pretty quickly dismissed because he doesn’t have HC experience and they think Tech is his preferred job. I assumed he’d be among their top candidates. Never know, but I’m breathing a little easier.

Not yet, that’s for damn sure. I don’t think it’s time to cut bait yet. But I also don’t think it was time for extension either. The new pitching facilities aren’t gonna mean much when we get a reputation for not being able to develop arm talent.

If/when we play UT it’s probably gonna look like a football score. I think we can get runs on anybody and a smaller park is a nightmare against our lineup. And obviously every defensive inning is going to be butthole puckering time with our staff.
