To danny and bke's point, I looked at the point totals given up and they don't look like a horrid defensive team. 48 to UNC and three in the 30s. One of those counts two scores against the offense. As PJ said early in the season, it looks goshawful but the points given up isn't all that bad.
I guess we take what we can get, but Kentucky seems like a nightmare matchup. They have no standing, having played decades of bad football. 6-6 record, rankings no where in sight.l But they appear to be a good football team at this point. Most of their six wins were in the second half of...
We might get some of what I can the "new putter effect." Golfers will recognize that often when you get a new putter, you putt better for a while just because you expect to putt better. We might play a little better for a while on just the newness of it.
takethepoints point above is one more reason to be optimistic about the offense with Mathew at the wheel. It will look a little different, but it can still get results. We have both spring and fall practices to go, so of course anything can happen, but I'd say the chances are very high that...
One thing which helps me through these things is to think about is all the QBs and RBs the teams we play are losing, either to the NFL or out of eligibility.
I was sure hoping this was one of those silly rumours which get passed around. But he has his reasons and he probably knows what he is doing.
What do we know about Benson?
I think LongForDodd has a good point. I didn't see any scary good wide receivers, and they usually have some. Just like tall, big armed quarterbacks, they seem to always have dangerous receivers. I didn't think Eason threw the ball very well, but maybe the lack of talent at wide receiver was...
I think my first post was too muddy. My main point was not the overemphasis by the local media on UGA. I understand you must cater to your customer base. The thing I was irritated about is the concept held by local reporters and the UGA fanbase that because they sign highly ranked recruiting...
I was thinking that getting the 8th win would almost automatically get us a pretty good bowl. Doug Roberson in the AJC this morning lists the ACC Power Poll. Eight ACC teams have won 8 or more games this year. Wow!
I guess by now I should expect no different, but still...
I read the coverage of the game by the Georgia reporters in the AJC and a few others. They have a bevy of reporters, not just a beat reporter like we get. The gist of all the reports was that Georgia under performed. I didn't see...
I have been watching this thread and hoping for a matchup which would get us some notice at the end of the year. But here is the thing -- it doesn't matter all that much. The opener with Tennessee is going to give us a shot at instant recognition. We all know that SEC schools are likely to be...
Reading about the game from their side, I've seen some asking why they didn't run the ball more and others saying that calling the runs had become predictable and they should have passed more. I like having them in a state of not knowing whether they should scratch their watch or wind their...
I wish we had some insiders at spring practice.
I think there will be a role for Mathew, but I'd like to see a more rounded quarterback win out. Even if he isn't the starter, I like him in short yardage. I also like him in times when we want to keep the ball and eat clock.
Having seen Michel and Chubb before, I was not afraid of them. I had read their O line was not up to par. We have been a decent, if not good, run stopping team. I guessed that we could keep their run game in check and stopping them would mostly depend on whether we could pressure Eason. I...
Here are some SEC miseries to enjoy.
You're a Gator fan. You are going to play Bama for the league championship and probably end up in a pretty good bowl. But you really don't give a shiny rat's arse. You lost to the hated Seminoles. Nothing else matters.
You're an Ole Miss fan. You...
