App State is actually a really good program. They finished 38th in FEI last season, going 10-4 (FWIW, FL was 36 and BYU 37) and was a 2-pt fav at home over UNC.
That doesn't change the fact that UNC's D is once again crap - but its offense is seriously good.
As a poster above mentioned i'd like to have 2-3 games to really see the strengths and weaknesses play out more and see the trends. That said, over 2 games UNC's offense has been incredibly good, with a FR QB that looks like a future superstar, and a defense that has been dogsh*t. Gave up 6...
The more I think about this the more i'm liking it.
The B10 and SEC are going to get multiple teams just about every year, but frankly I can see the ACC getting multiple teams more years than not, especially with the new ACC format starting next year where the top 2 teams will meet in the...
No. The Top 6 conference champions get bids. That is basically going to be the champion from each of the P5 conferences plus the highest rated non-P5 champion. And then 6 slots for automatic bids. Most years that will probably be ND, 3 SEC and 2 B10 teams.
First, this will likely happen before 2026, second this is likely to dampen much realignment for a while.
A 12 team playoff with 6 bids going to the 6 highest ranked conference champions basically means the P5 conferences all get an auto bid as well as the top ranked G5 school. 6 at large teams...
I thought Pitt looked pretty good Thursday against a P5 opponent. Their offense was better than I expected and their defense was less impressive than I expected, but made plays late in the game when it had to.
it is a winnable game for GT, but GT will almost certainly be a deserved underdog...
Honestly, not much to get excited about or upset about with that article.
Basically says Collins hasn't lived up to expectations (mentions that Collins and Elliott were the 2 he gently suggested 3 years ago) and that he has to get better this year or it will likely be his last.
I think it is possible to go 6-6, not likely, but possible. We would almost certainly have to win one of UCF/Ole Miss to get there.
It's hard though to see a 4 game win streak when we have only won 3 a year for 3 straight years, with no wins over teams with winning records and no back to back...
The DL coach was quoted in an article a week or two ago saying that Scott and Douse were the 2 most consistent DT's and he is trying to get the other DT's to be as consistent as them.
My other take away from what news we have gotten from camp is that none of the DT's have really surged far ahead...
The basic issue with playing Clemson is their D is too tough for our O to deal with.
We have scored more than 14 points once in the last 6 years against Clemson - a 49-21 loss in 2018. We've been held to 10 or fewer points in four of those 6 years and had 14 in the other.
I just don't expect...
You could also look at Clemson's season as 2 halves where the first half they had an inept offense and the 2nd half they had a functioning offense.
If you take the first 6 games against FBS (running from UGA to Pitt, excluding SC State), Clemson scored 84 points in regulation (remember NC St...
I believe GT's offense was actually better than Clemson's last year. But their defense was way better than ours.
We will see if either Clemson or GT have better offenses this year, that is nothing but speculation at this point for either team.
I agree TO's will be extremely important. The...
This is an interesting analysis by Nate Silver on which programs might be most attractive to the B10 at whatever point in the future they decide to expand again.

Around late 1980.
Found out my family would be moving to GA from WI, so I was initially a big fan of both UGA (this was Hershel time) and GT -largely due to the tie against ND in 1980 followed by the win over AL just a couple of months after my family moved.
For the first 6 months I was here in...
Bingo. The donors drove alot of the last coaching search, TStan hired Collins because that is who the boosters who were willing to open their pocket wanted.
I don't think TStan is in any serious jeopardy. He has improved the financial situation, made good coaching hires outside of FB (which...
There's a couple of places I could put this but it may actually be best here

The only issue with the whole Senate angle is that will is really be seen as an important enough issue for Congress to spend time on.
Their time is very limited and very few bills actually advance.
Also, just having it done in the Senate is only half of Congress - you need the same bill to be...
According to that composite GT is 5th in the ACC in talent and 8th in the B10. So on a relative basis GT would be in a weaker position in the B10 in terms of talent than it is in the ACC. Keep in mind that that same composite has Nebraska with more talent than GT and look how they are doing.
