  1. PFF Week 2 Grades

Our run blocking will definitely need to improve as the season goes on. If our O starts to get alot of third and longs i'm not convinced our WR's are good enough to consistently get separation nor our QB good enough to consistently make throws into tight windows.
  2. Georgia Tech donors see positives, but it’s time to ‘put up or shut up’

I agree with this. If you assume UGA is a loss then GT has to go 5-4 against the other 9 to get to 6 wins. Doable, but not easy. Right now Ole Miss feels like the toughest of the next 3. They have looked solid on both sides of the ball. UCF did not look good offensively against L'ville (though...
  3. PFF Week 2 Grades

This is sort of interesting. We ran the ball quite effectively and threw it poorly but the PFF says the OL did better in pass protection than run blocking. Makes you wonder if Western Carolina is just really bad at run defense. It did seem like Sims had time to through compared to week 1, but...
  4. #WCUvsGT Postgame Discussion

That number would be the # of tickets sold, not the number that were in the stands. All schools report tickets sold rather than # of people that pass through the turnstile. There was a good article on this last year. I believe the avg attendance for college football games was somewhere in the...
  5. Week 2 ACC Football

Duke @NW, Wake @Vandy, UVA @Ill and UNC @Ga ST are all games to keep an eye on. Alot of road games against P5 opponents this week and who knows what UNC will do other than score alot on offense and give up alot on defense.
  6. ACC Discussion 2022

I was a little surprised they didn't get into the Top 25 this week but if they take care of business the next couple of weeks they should get there. They are at L'ville this Friday and then at home vs BC the following week, If they don't blow either of those games then they have the three game...
  7. ACC Discussion 2022

I agree. After watching 2 games, I think FSU's defense is going to cause our O all sorts of troubles. Their front 4 have the potential to do very similar things to what Clemson's DL did. The biggest difference I saw was that their OL looks alot better than Clemson's. LSU had no sacks on Sunday...
  8. PFF Week 1 Grades

We'll have to wait how the season plays out but one potential answer is that 247Sports transfer ranking for them - mid-to-high 3 star players is more accurate than their HS ranking for them - mid-to-high 4 star.
  9. Clemson 41 - GT 10

I'm about ready to focus on WCU, but here is the advanced stats review from the Clemson game by Binion. Some good and some bad. https://www.fromtherumbleseat.com/2022/9/8/23341913/georgia-tech-football-gt-vs-clemson-advanced-stats-review
  10. PFF Week 1 Grades

There total combined snaps was less than 1 full-time OL starter. (roughly 3/4 of a starters snaps).
  11. PFF Week 1 Grades

According to the stats at Ramblinwreck.com Williams, Vaipulu, Franklin, Fusile and Robinson were the OL starters. Quick did play as did Tchio and Leftwich had a few snaps.
  12. WCU game

I'm expecting something like last year's KSU game - 45-17, something like that. Of course that doesn't mean there still isn't a corner of my mind that is concerned about Saturday. The key is pretty simple. Don't let Clemson beat you twice. Fortunately we came out healthy from Monday, though we...
  13. Clemson 41 - GT 10

I thought it was a weak decision. We had already fielded punts, so that wasn't a big concern to me (LSU's punt returner fumbled the only previous punt attempt). Clemson only had 1 TO so their time was limited. Also, the GT D had just gotten a big stop and had largely contained Clemson's O most...
  14. Bottom 25

CBSSports has their first one of the season out. I do not expect to see GT here all here but i'm not surprised to see GT here after game 1. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-rankings-oregons-blowout-loss-to-georgia-lands-ducks-in-first-bottom-25-of-2022-season/
  15. PFF Week 1 Grades

So the 4 new OL transfers basically got 30% of the snaps, and the majority of those came from the lowest regarded of the 4. Go figure. A little disappointing that Leftwich and Green don't seem to be more ready to play snaps.
  16. PFF Week 1 Grades

How many snaps did each of our OL play? Williams 66, Franklin (was he 66 as well), Fusile 52, Vaipulu (I know started), Robinson (I think he also started), Quick (24), Tchio (18), did Leftwich or Green get snaps? What sticks out to me is that we talked alot about bringing in Quick from AL and...
  17. Clemson 41 - GT 10

This is a good summary of my feelings. I see improvements in some areas and the potential to get to 6 wins, but having the potential to get there and actually getting there are 2 different things. Let's see where we are in a couple more games. Some teams improve alot the first 3-4 games of a...
  18. In 2026 the CFP will be 12 teams

Here is a good article on why the new CFP came about (it was driven by the Presidents) and how it might impact college football going forward. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/how-college-football-playoff-expansion-will-affect-realignment-job-security-and-the-future-of-the-sport/
  19. Conference Realignment

There appears to be some disagreement within the B10. It appears the Commish has a serious interest in further expansion, but some of the AD's and President's are not on board with that. I think the new CFP is likely to cool down expansion talk as well as that apparently was at least part of...
  20. ACC Discussion 2022

I just remember thinking after the 2nd muffed punt. Take 3 knees, force them to use the OT's and kick a field goal. You have a 2 possession lead and they have no TO's. Also, great use of the prevent the win defense. Their defense had dominated LSU's O for most of the game and rather than...
