Ken has a new article on the AD search.
In it he says Greene (Auburn) is not a candidate and that Cobb (Ga St) is not believed to be a leading candidate.
He also says the search could be completed in the next couple of weeks...
TIAR Baby.
It would be a huge letdown to lose at home to UVA. They are not a good team at all. In fact they are the worse team in the ACC imo.
It's also vital to win that game as 4 of the last 5 are on the road
Getting to 6 wins basically requires beating UVA as the schedule started really...
I'm going with a relatively high scoring, close win.
I think TO's are the most important item to watch in this game. GT is tied for 9th nationally in TO margin at +7 (11 gained, 4 lost). Duke is tied for 4th at +8 (10 gained, 2 lost).
Penalties are another item to watch. Both are pretty good...
The good news is we really don't face another strong defense until the last game of the season.
If the offense is going to get going it should start this Saturday.
Here are the DFEI rankings for our opponents this season
Clemson #8
Ole Miss #24
UCF #27
Pitt #15
Duke #97
Virginia #77
FSU #53
VT...
No, saw it at the time.
I think it is committed to having a winning program. It doesn't want to be 3-9 every year. I do not think GT is committed to be a 'great' football program.
I think it wants to be a consistently winning program like it was before the Collins hire, I do not think it is...
Keep in mind, even with all that growth - other schools have been growing to.
GT has the 12th smallest undergraduate enrollment of P5 schools and is the smallest public school in the P5 (in terms of undergraduate enrollment).
The 11 smaller schools are
Wake (private)
Duke (private)
Vanderbilt...
Connelly had the correct summation of this game. GT had basically 5 big plays, but those plays won them the game.
I think Hall's 2 longest runs were his long run late in the 4th quarter and then the 13 yd run where he went about 3 yards and the OL pushed him another 10.
The PFF grades largely...
I'd forgotten that ASU is looking NCAA penalties (part of the reason for Edwards departure), that will likely hurt them some as coaches will have to way the potential penalties they might have to work with when they get there.
It would not be surprising to see Harsin to get one of the PAC jobs...
I would have interest in Herman if he is interested in GT.
His win total at TX (32-18, 0.640) is much better than either the coach before him - Charlie Strong (0.432) or the coach that has succeeded him - Stave Sarkisian (0.471).
In the last 35+ years the only coach at TX with a better winning...
If I was ranking them it would go like this.
WI - way out in front
Neb.
GT/ASU - you can flip a coin on these 2, i'd give a slight edge to GT, but putting either at 3 is realistic. As another poster mentioned, I don't think there will be much overlap in these 2 teams coaches lists.
Col - way...
Sort of interesting analysis from Bill Connelly.
Basically GT won just a handful of plays, but those plays and TO's allowed them to pull the upset. 5 offensive plays went for 165 yds. The other 66 play - 169 yds.
FWIW, here is one man's ranking of the open jobs.

Updated Hot Seat rankings...
FWIW, It's being reported that Chryst was due over $16MM, but has agreed to something significantly less ($8-10MM range). Wonder if GT can work a little magic with Collins.
Also, while I don't expect a change, Mich St giving Mel Tucker an almost $10MM/yr contract last year doesn't look quite as...
It was obvious that Hall didn't get the ball across the plane.
The pylon is placed right at the edge of the plane. If the ball is not touching the plane as you are coming at an angle towards it, it is actually impossible for the ball to be across the plane. The ball would have to be away from...
Wonderful win.
My daughter and son in law (who is also a GT grad) visited on Sunday and it was really nice to have positive things to talk about with our program.
Big game against Duke this week (imagine saying that 6 weeks ago).
It was pretty obvious from early in the game that GT was much...
As far as ranking the 5 jobs that are currently open, I would rank them this way
WI - this is easy. The only thing that keeps them from being a Top 10 job is the lack of high level recruits in WI.
Neb - #2 is the hardest one to pick, but Nebraska has a huge fanbase and alot of money.
AZ St -...
Wisconsin is by far the best job that is currently open, and would be a better job than Auburn if Auburn opens.
WI has a huge fanbase, a large budget, and a well run AA. They also don't have nearly the same level of meddling by boosters as Auburn does.
The last time they had a losing season was...
