I don't understand the comments that suggest our discussions about coach options is somehow inappropriate or illogical. That's the point of boards like this...they exist so that a bunch of us who have zero standing in the decisions can enjoy the virtual water-cooler discussion on the pros and...
Ready your eye-rolls gang, I'm going to say it!
Does this mean we go from Tight Pants McGee to Pajama Bottoms Billy? Wow, the slippers with the socks and sweats. He might be a great recruiter and an awesome coach, but holy game-hen man, you are over 50 years old! ;)
100% possible, even very very likely. Still, my statement stands since I was responding to someone saying that they didn't get the griping of GT Fans. If they'd said "GT Swarm" then I'd be right with them! ;)
To be clear...I'm not thrilled to see Key as interim, but I'm good with it. I'm thrilled with the change and good with Key being interim along the way to fixing this mess. If Key turns out to be the next Saban, then great. Let's just not give him a long-term contract if he gets us to a bowl game...
And it would be really cool if the AT Fund allowed you to pick and association or two to link to your contribution. I'd like to know how much GT Swarm donates, for instance!
We should create a math track that looks like calculus, but is way easier. Maybe "Calculus: A Philosophy" or "Calculus: Integrating Sports, Education and Parties"
The very vast majority of Tech fans and alums that I've spoken to are all thrilled with the change, happy to see Key as interim and fully supportive going forward. I'd suggest we don't take The Swarm as even a reasonably representative sample of GT Fans. There are some on here who would gripe if...
I agree! Now that we're an Artificial Intelligence research center maybe we should create a SA-focused program like UNC had. We can call it "Artificial Education" ;)
This exactly. Cabrera handled it perfectly despite Schmultz'es (sic) whining. Don't worry about what Jeff thinks is a 'good look'...he's irrelevant. Which is probably why he's so grumpy all the time.
Maybe I'll donate all my crypto. It's not worth much now, but at one point it might have made me Donor ;)
In all seriousness...great idea. I'll go drop a bit as well.
I finally did a search on that. Oh my. I hope Tech stays way away from that. The last thing we need to do is go from a Clown Show to the Jerry Springer Show.
Well, there's a political angle here as well. He leaves, lets the Gov appoint an interim if I remember my Ga political process, who just might be the Gov's favorite for the post come election time. Perfect timing for some free publicity, right?
So Burt Jones is appointed to the position before...
That's a great point. One of the red flags for a poor leader is one who uses "Us Against The World" as their rallying cry. It's a reliable test to watch out for poor managers...just see which managers circle the wagons to create 'culture.'
The test will be individual. Can they do their best even when faced with disappointment and loss? It's a hard thing even for more experienced adults, so for these younger adults it will be a real challenge.
56 Nominated. Wow.
We should rename it the Oprah Award: "YOU get a nomination! And YOU get a nomination! And YOU get a nomination, too! EVERYONE gets a nomination!
Four easy steps to getting me to give more:
Step 1: Communicate to me more often and more effectively to get me more engaged.
Step 2: Win
Step 3: Don't pester me with phone calls, but make it super easy to give more.
Step 4: GoTo Step 2
