I don’t think anyone is saying that they are counting Cadeau out. We’re saying that, as a top rising sophomore, Nait deserves some recognition based on his performance last year.
The idea that colleges have separated AAs from schools is not really correct. They’ve separated them financially (for the most part) but if you look at the organizing documents for AAs you will always see the President sitting on the Board, as well as faculty reps and usually student reps...
Texas A&M might be an example. Bear Bryant and the Junction Boys way back when, and then they went through some really bad years in the 70s and 80s. Jackie Sherrill cheated them to better, but they’re definitely “back” now.
I’ve written this through the years several times, but it’s applicable so I’ll do it again. I had a good friend from high school that played basketball for the Mutts. He was 6’ 8” and always strong in HS. He went to college in June to start working out and getting on the nutrition plan, and...
They would rule the conference, not the schools. They could change distribution systems and do things like rewarding schools with distributions based on performance. Schools would get less over time, except those that consistently excel. I have no idea if this is what they’re thinking, just...
This is my understanding too, but there are others here who know specifics. I just remember about 1/2 way through the season they announced that he was better, but felt redshirting would be most beneficial for him so he could have a full year.
This is what I like about the roster. This depth gives us (1) a bunch of options against different opponents, and (2) the ability to bring Mustaf along at his pace - if he needs to be 'brought along' at all. 24 minutes per game on average means some 30 minute guys and some 20 minute guys; in...
I’m not claiming anything other than I think the Big 10 has a base of fans from many schools here, so we’re attractive as a market. I don’how much viewership would increase or decrease for us with a Big 10 schedule. Viewership is definitely biased by the time slots you get, and those time...
There are a ton of Big 10 alumni in Atlanta, so I think there is built in interest here. I also think Nielsen-rated viewership is going to be impacted by TV decisions around network/time, so those need to be controlled for.
If they think they are so awesome, they should go Independent. They can sign a TV deal just like Notre Dame. Although if they do I don't know who is going to play them; Florida and Miami, but after that it's a crapshoot.
Can you imagine leaving your regional network of rivals so you can play away games in Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona, all because of embarrassment? I would die laughing. They would be better off going independent than joining the Big 12.
That, and there's no way schools like Arizona, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Colorado, Utah are going to take smaller distributions so Clemson and FSU can get richer.
Given the maturity of the other players, we’ve got more 4’s than 5’a that we think will make an impact. I agree that we’re more likely to see 2 4’s than a 4/5 combo. Ndongo is so deadly off the pick and roll I just don’t see him not filling the 5, but I expect he will get more opportunities at...
Root4GT isn’t just talking about the competitiveness of the rivalry, it’s the hatred. When Key says “I hate Georgia” he means it. My dad played baseball at A&M in the 60’s, and he hates Texas. He couldn’t even watch the A&M/tu football games.
Notice I use “tu”. That’s from growing up, they...
