I don’t think they are over-rated, per se. I don’t think much of pre-season rankings, but I think they are a Top 25 team that is going to hang 50 points on some teams this year. It is a big win for us and will be a quality win going forward.
I like to contrast us with Colorado and the Prime...
I loved how we played under Paul Johnson, and these games (and this post) make me feel the same way. There’s nothing like seeing a defense become defeated by a 15 play drive - it’s so demoralizing. Love how tough we are in the run game.
I was out all day on a prior commitment, somehow kept from hearing the result and just watched the game. Wow, our O-Line played lights out. Carson Palmer - who I dislike personally but feel has great insight as a color man at games - was gushing about our OL play AND our defensive improvement...
The announcement that Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. are launching an all-sports streaming service (Venu Sports: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/sports-streaming-service-monthly-price-venu/) will put all of this to the test. I'm definitely going to cancel my Hulu subscription and move to this.
I think this year our DL is better from a talent perspective, with the transfers and return from injury. HOWEVER, I think the real difference is coaching. I'm optimistic that our new defensive coaches can dramatically improve the existing defense, absent any overall changes in talent. So I...
^^^^ is why I'm saying that a Top 30 offense and a Top 40 defense gets us into the Top 30, maybe Top 25 given our schedule. To be a Top 20 team we're going to have to be a Top 15 offense.
IMO, these things are doable. We could certainly go the other way as well, but my gut tells me we're a Top...
Taking a purely data approach, you can look at what good coaching did to Duke from 2021 - 2023. Duke's defensive FEI performance improvement was impressive. They went from 113 -> 62 -> 27.
Georgia Tech was 77th in DFEI last year, but we faced the 24th hardest slate of offensive competitors...
This is hilarious. The article stats that "there appears to be confirmation of Florida State’s contention that the ACC’s long-term TV deal could actually be scrapped by ESPN in 2027" is just plain wrong. That section of the document is titled "Extension Option: [redacted]" and then goes on to...
