  1. My permanent solution to Georgia Tech uniforms. I designed these concepts myself.

I like that minimal-navy "homecoming" one a lot!
  2. Conference Realignment

lolwut Aggies have as much of a little brother syndrome as anyone, and now they aren’t even in a “better”” league to try to feel smug about that to make up for the lack of success on the field. They’re absolutely a better cultural fit for the SEC than the Big 10, though. Texas is the...
  3. Article on Brent Key

I don’t know if “soft” is exactly the word for Brown’s Texas teams but UT people weren’t exactly enamored with him. He won it all once at least but lots of feeling like he could’ve done more with the talent he had.
  4. How many wins for GT to earn a CFP berth?

seems like it would take a weird combo of 9 wins to a) not be in the conference championship game (a loss there and a 9-4 profile doesn’t feel good enough), b) not have any bad losses that would be disqualifying and c) have enough big wins to be in the conversation. Like beat all of ND and UGA...
  5. Highest Revenue Earning Athletic Programs 2023

From some of the stuff that's been in other threads about the AD budget increases the last couple years under Batt I wonder what the list looked like 2 years ago.
  6. I’m making a documentary about the 2014 season for its 10th anniversary

Yeah, “what companies will be at the career fair to get your resumes and help you get internships and a first job in industry” is a HUGE part of the value that a school can give you.
  7. Article on Brent Key

I always wondered what happened with Threet since he was out after one spring early enrollment but it doesn’t look like he was the guy who would’ve been the difference maker in 2007 anyway.
  8. I’m making a documentary about the 2014 season for its 10th anniversary

Weren’t the three years in a row 04-06? 2007 was more lopsided despite some goofy calls. 04 and 05 were absolute failures of GT’s offense when it was needed most. 04 even saw one of the rare Bilbo QB sequences if I remember right after Ball got pulled for a bit.
  9. Faulkner Raise

I mean, “recruiting will never change even if he continues the upward swing and has more support from administration” is pretty much the definition of Debbie Downer, isn’t it? Especially if you think he is a top caliber coach - then he should be able to do more with less to get the results to...
  10. Faulkner Raise

Nobody has said that the money people wouldn't have to pony up. But the new leadership has said that's where they want to get, and the last few years have already added tens of millions to the budget, so if someone wants to be so confident in advance that that won't happen instead of waiting and...
  11. CFB25 Video Game: images revealed of GT stadium, mascots, traditions

That bottom pic looks like it could be from NCAA 14 on PS3 lol
  12. Faulkner Raise

This is where people are seeing the pessimism. (Well, that and that your definition of "succesful" caps out at 8 wins, period, aka "less than the last 3 non-joke coaches peaked at and the last coach beat several times"). We're very early in the NIL era and we have a pretty new administration...
  13. Article on Brent Key

That's true and all but it seems unlikely that we could make it rain for Key and NOT be able to take care of the players too. If Key wins we need the money to follow, across the board.
  14. Transfer Portal: Who do we need to target this offseason?

The Gailey years were a case study in having a good-to-great defense without winning 9.
  15. Faulkner Raise

You think Gailey is the first name that would come to mind for other potential "least hard working" coaches in 40 years?
  16. Conference Realignment

I think the bulk of the current internet content mill basically is taking the discussions that go like “I wonder if there’d be a viable challenge to the GOR if the tv deal gets dropped” and leaping fully to “the tv deal is getting dropped and that will kill the GOR”
  17. Lifestyle projections and economic discussions regarding LA

The crazy thing about the LA region is that people don’t just spend to be in the path of the cool coastal breeze, they also drop millions on houses in the San Fernando Valley where you still get serious heat. Best (everyday, non-fine-dining) food in the world though. Fight me on that one ;)
  18. Lifestyle projections and economic discussions regarding LA

I wouldn’t want to live in LA county without at least being over 120k or so, but I’m pretty sure that Lakers salary would come out to much more than that. Get a sweet 6M pad in Malibu you’ll still have a lot left over. And for most non-property stuff the cost difference is pretty marginal...
  19. Coaching Carousel 9 - People die climbing mountains

The Gailey, Hewitt, and early Johnson staffs were all competitive pay-wise. Tenuta was one of the highes paid assistants in the country; Johnson one of the highest paid coaches in the conference IIRC for a minute there. But when others started spending more GT didn’t really even try to keep up...
  20. Coaching Carousel 9 - People die climbing mountains

Eh, the last 10 champs: 2014: Tim Duncan, Kawhi, etc 2015: Steph 2016: Lebron 2017: Steph + KD 2018: Steph + KD 2019: Kawhi 2020: Lebron 2021: Giannis 2022: Steph 2023: Jokic 2024: either Luka or Tatum The most marginal names on that list would be Kawhi and possibly Tatum? You need more than...
