  1. Georgia State Post Game thread

This tracks with my experience. In the South people were extra friendly until they realized I was actually a bit different. Then it was some take of either affronted or suspicious or hostile. And a real quick early way that I stood out in some UGA-centric places was a GT sticker and out of...
  2. Conference Realignment

I’ll take a regular season loss to Miami and a win over them in the ACCCG ;)
  3. FSU

Don’t forget that it was only two years ago that Norvell was a top hot seat name. FSU seems a fickle bunch lately. It would be hilarious to watch them debating using a hundred million to get out of the ACC or to dump Norvell, though. Maybe that’s just another reason they need that SEC money...
  4. Florida State Schadenfreude

    That relegation one is gold
  5. AP Ranking

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/41043420/2024-college-football-power-rankings-week-1-top-25-teams 25 in ESPN’s rankings. Behind Clemson and A&M still.
  6. FSU

Those well-short-of-the-line-of-gain throws in the second half on third down say a lot about what coaching DJU has been getting and the general level of want on FSU. Haynes King would’ve tried on those plays. We’ve seen him throw ints there, but he wouldn’t have just taken the L.
  7. FSU

Yeah it’s no guarantee but 6-2 has often been good enough. With unbalanced schedules it’s harder now, but there are also no divisions so that helps. But that would require them to fight from behind with no guarantees.
  8. 2024 non-GT games thread

Right, even the people running the university are telling the kids “if you don’t like something just throw a tantrum and cry for someone to intervene.”
  9. FSU

FSU could end up the third-best “State” school on GT’s schedule at this rate
  10. FSU

I think the portal era will be very interesting, there are clear risks emerging of the mercenary mindset. With expanded playoffs FSU didn’t need to be 12-0. Hell, win out from here and they’d have a good shot at the ACCCG. But they don’t want to do the work if it’s not easy.
  11. FSU

“Quits after the first adversity” still true for FSU?
  12. 2024 non-GT games thread

there were big debates on here if quitting on their bowl said anything meaningful about the program’s culture and mentality. I still think it did. And yeah, transferring into that looks like a self inflicted wound.
  13. Georgia State Post Game thread

UGA fans are 95% of why I’ve never believed in rural southern hospitality being a thing, as someone who went to GT from more of a suburban/city upbringing. Absolute psychos.
  14. Conference Realignment

Somehow SEC teams with tough schedules still get plenty of votes. The expectation is that the lower ranked of them will go, say, 7-5 or 8-4 against the hard schedule and end up around number 23 still. SOS results in outcomes being adjusted. GT wasn’t expected to be good enough to finish with a...
  15. Conference Realignment

VT’s schedule is almost certainly not why they received votes in the poll and GT didn’t. The polls aren’t future looking SOS based, but recent snapshot performance. And I doubt most people spent time digging into VT’s or GT’s schedule when tossing a handful of votes VT’s way. Both teams...
  16. Georgia State Post Game thread

The little brother syndrome definitely ain't a great look. UGA fans are gonna poke fun at something regardless, but if you're unaffiliated? There was a reason I never could get much into A&M growing up in Texas. Same thing.
  17. AP Ranking

I think there’s a better chance of jumping NCST than those three. A&M is out too.
  18. 2024 non-GT games thread

I have questions about that LSU clock management lol. Low scoring game given the sad defense on both sides. Both feel a bit overrated but neither are falling out of the pools now.
  19. 2024 non-GT games thread

USC still seems without much defense, maybe we can take their spot in the top 25 if they lose
  20. Georgia State Post Game thread

Kinda the ideal Swarm game: covered, won going away, but gave us lots to complain about. I think teams will increasingly realize they can’t sell out against the run and that’ll give the offense good opportunities all season long. Weird game for the defense since the tackling seemed much...
