    The Handshake

Exhibit A. Thanks. ETA: Reread my first sentence. It’s not the handshake that bothers me so much, although that was concerning. It’s the reaction by a not insignificant portion of our fan base.

    The Handshake

The replies to this thread (and others lately) are troubling to me. I’m a young guy, but maybe I’m behind the times. I remember when being a “Tech Man” meant something. It meant carrying yourself with class and decorum, no matter the circumstances. It meant treating others with respect, not...

    Coronavirus Thread

It's called federalism and it's part of what makes the American experiment great. Besides, the federal government's ability to enforce specific public health directives is handcuffed by the 10th Amendment (as it should be). Could lives be saved by ignoring both? Maybe, but at what cost to our...

    Ahmaud Arbery murder case

Rabbit trail alert: I'm not up to speed on Georgia law specifically, but the first two situations would qualify under my understanding of "unlawful and forcibly" under the common law. "Unlawful" meaning without consent of the owner and "forcibly" carrying a very low threshold including moving...

    Ahmaud Arbery murder case

As you can probably tell from my past posts, I typically just try to lay out the letter of the law and let the chips fall where they may. But FWIW, I completely agree with you here. Criminal trespassing, even if applicable, is a misdemeanor. As such, McMichael would have to personally witness...

    Ahmaud Arbery murder case

You're right, in an attempt to get this back on track, I'll note that there are other situations which qualify as criminal trespassing under the Georgia code that do not require damages or notice from the owner, including knowingly and maliciously interfering with the possession or use of...

    Ahmaud Arbery murder case

Respectfully, I believe you are wrong on this last point. You may open yourself up to the civil charges, but you would not be criminally liable. According to the castle doctrine, so long as that person is not a family member and you had reason to believe they unlawfully and forcibly entered...

Wes Durham - Top 50 Calls

@BobintheATL99, not sure if you have the 2003 GT@Vandy game in your archives, but it was this play right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wbf1BzsgpZE Eric Henderson blocked a potential game-winning FG at the end of regulation, Ball scored on the first play of OT (see above), and then...

    Is It Just Me?

Not a hoop-head, but to me, it's a combo of: Virginia-style defense. UVA won a national title playing a stifling, grind-it-out, defensive style. Other teams are of course trying to emulate to a certain extent. Lack of a mid-range game. It seems to all be points in the paint and threes...

Hell of a 666th post, @BainbridgeJacket, you advocate for the devil! ;)

    Season in review.

Aside from the myriad of puzzling in-game coaching decisions, this was the biggest disappointment to me this year. Given the wailing and gnashing of teeth I heard for years from GT fans and alums about CPJ's offense, I expected a better showing from our fanbase when so many finally got what...

When you KNEW you hated UGag

When my dwag uncle and cousins, completely serious, asked me why I wasn't going to UGag for engineering after I was accepted at GT. They had never set foot on campus, had no idea of what types of degrees GT and UGag offered, and thought UGag was the best academic school in the state. Then tried...

    Uni combo

That pic in the Uniform Authority tweet makes it look like Graham's throwing shoulder got hit with some Bruce Banner gamma rays.

    Legitimate observation/question

@Boss Ross Is this still in the works? Looks like you are still dropping hints about it so curious if you have additional information.

I guess we should have known

I'm sorry, but ignorance is not an excuse for me on this issue. You see your grandma fall down on the ground, you help her up. Your friend drops their textbooks on the ground and you probably stop to help pick them up. Heck, most people will stop and pick up trash that they accidentally drop...

I guess we should have known

This isn't something complicated like knowing that you have to raise the flag to full staff before lowering to half or shining a light on it at night, this the emblem of the land you love lying there on the ground at risk for being trod over. You shouldn't have to be taught to pick it up, you...

    Playing Time for Jordan Yates

My thought on this is that Yates didn't have to play one play. Once the 2PT conversion failed, Tech was down 18 points with 10 minutes left in the game and was not going to score three more times. This was a perfect opportunity for Yates to get some PT once you'd popped the top on playing him.

    Playing Time for Jordan Yates

Not asking for hindsight, just a little foresight. They presumably knew LJ was unavailable (but why did he dress?) and should have anticipated what would happen if JG got hurt. An basic analysis of what type of situation would call for Yates vs. TO should have been already done before the...

    Playing Time for Jordan Yates

This is exactly why it was dumb move. Blindly following the non-existent depth chart without regard for the bigger picture and larger ramifications, particularly when it was for a single play.

Can only play him in 3 games though. :censored:
