    GT-UNC IS OFFICIALLY A WHITEOUT

That comment from Mark Price is pretty freakin cool. He was at the game too.

    Ndongo

After seeing the replay, I knew he was done for the night due to concussion protocol. I figured that was game over for GT. Then right after that Miles got called for a foul and it looked to me like he intentionally pushed the guy pretty hard with 2 hands. I was thinking, crap, he’ll get ejected...

    GT-UNC IS OFFICIALLY A WHITEOUT

Jay Williams is pretty unbearable sometimes. Stoodivert was killing me all night, then crying for the foul at the end was too much. Reece Davis is a real pro to be able to deal with him as broadcast partner.

It was the only game I’ll miss all season (hopefully), and I’m pissed that I had to miss it. Hope everyone had a blast and will come back to more games. P.s. and hell no I didn’t sell my tix to any tar holes.

    GT-UNC IS OFFICIALLY A WHITEOUT

They also took 77 shots to our 61. Big disparity. Mainly due to offensive rebounds obviously. But we out % shot them. And we smoked them at the free throw line for once.

    GT-UNC IS OFFICIALLY A WHITEOUT

Wierd. We held their whole team in check except rj davis. He had 28, but no one else reached double figures. Ingram and Ryan both played 35-36 minutes, each shot 3-14, and they were their only two starters with a negative plus/minus. Those two really struggled. Thank god.

I am probably wrong about dowouna, because the coaches see him every day in practice, and they must think that Claude brings more to the table.

We’ve gotten a few stops by randomly switching to a 2-3 zone a few times, but I think it has worked simply because it took our opponents by surprise, because some of our guys have looked a bit lost playing the zone. I think if we played it for long stretches, we would get shredded inside and out.

The first thing I would try is simply swapping dowouna for Claude. I think you gain some defense and don’t really lose any offense.

I wonder why Dowouna (so?) doesn’t get some playing time for interior defense? He was getting token starts and playing the firtst 4-6 minutes. Now nothing. I know he won’t produce much offense, but he can score on offensive rebound putbacks, and we need size inside for defense.

    GT-UNC IS OFFICIALLY A WHITEOUT

I wasn’t aware that beer sales were a problem at the uva game. Were they just super slow/long lines, or were they sold out? I’ve noticed that all of the concessions are so slow that they grind to a halt if there is any semblance of a decent crowd. The concessionaires are probably so used to...

The offense in the 1st half was putrid. Just a bunch of standing around watching one guy trying to drive to the basket 1v1. The other 4 defenders usually didn’t even react and our other 4 guys mostly just stood nailed to the floor. VT on the other hand set lots of screens off the ball to get...

I know nothing about kirouac except that he is a beanpole. I hope you are right that he has potential, but I wouldn’t expect him to be much of an interior defender early on.

    Some 23-24 Basketball stats

@Root4GT, @Iv20gt is clearly trying to overwhelm you, by his superior logic and reasoning, into admitting that there was no logical reason to consider a coaching change at the end of last season, and therefore it was a terrible mistake to replace CJP with CDS. You, however, have hit on an...

CDS Pushing Through Ups and Downs

lol. It seems so, doesn’t it. A transfer from Gardner Webb who was an average player on a below average/bad team last year. Don’t get me wrong, he did some good things and had some good games, but he was no world beater. Heck, he was no Miles Kelly, and… never mind. I hope if Lance is on the...

CDS Pushing Through Ups and Downs

Ok. I concede. Call it what you will, but it still requires a quality point guard. I doubt very seriously you’ll hear CDS saying basketball no longer needs point guards. And Terry is not a point guard, but a shooting guard, and hopefully a very good one if he is playing for GT next season.

CDS Pushing Through Ups and Downs

Uh… no. We don’t play a 5-out, and we very much do have to have a good point guard, and thankfully we have a very good young point guard in George and a veteran in Sturdivant. Terry is a shooting guard, not a point guard. That’s based on his skill set, not on where he stands on the court. We...
