Some are excellent. I saw some superb downfield blocks saturday on some running plays (but I cannot at this moment recall which receiver it was who delivered those blocks).
Gotta recognize greatness when we do see it!
The idea of a hand injury makes some sense to me. Key wouldn’t want to advertise this, if true. Not only have we reduced the mid-range passes, we saw HK sail some passes Saturday night…something I don’t recall him doing in the past (the sequence in the 2nd quarter when we got inside the 10 but...
Correct, BUT…in spite of that we trailed late inthe 3rd quarter. Had we not rallied for a dominant 4th quarter (something we were unable to do in our 2 losses) we would have lost this game. Therein lies the problem.
We seem to run A LOT of WR screens. I did not count them last night, but there were a ton of them. It may be my perception but these things bothered me:
(1) we have been doing this all year, and by now every team we play knows they will need ot cheat up and stop that because it seems to be...
Only problem with that is I feel our pass defense is the weakest aspect of our defense. Syracuse and Louisville both exploited us there. Miami’s offense is all about passing the ball. I think they are simply a bad matchup for us.
This quote made me laugh
"Tech running backs probably requesting tickets for entire hometowns”…given UNC’s (ahem) defense (and I use the word charitablly), our running backs are likely looking forward to next week’s game!
Your first point about the lawsuit is spot on.
Your comment about Title IX being “logical and necessary “ is opinion (and maybe political opinion). There is no revenue sharing in any professional sports where there are men’s and women’s leagues. Ergo, mandating it in college is clearly a...
Your opinions about our past performance are reasonable. However, college football is not linear. It’s also about matchups.
But mostly where I disagree is your linear view that our showing in most recent games will continue. It has been shown again and again that…in college,,, that assumption...
OR, we could change our play calls on 3rd and short, Duke will not be prepared for that and if we do that we will:
(1) win tonight by the spread; and
(2) give future opponents more to worry about
Dude on College Gameday just pointed to GT as his pick of the weekend giving the points. He thought we’d cover the spread and win. Count his vote into the GT + 14 category’s
Not me. There was way too much evidence now to make that kind of mistake.
Must be because we managed to embarrass UNC for our lone highlight during TFG’s reign.
I doubt we’ll crush them. I think (read: hope) we’ll control the game, get ahead by 2 scores, and stay ahead by 2 scores. The line sounds about right to me (which, iirc, is what started all this).
Our games against better teams (Louisviile and Syracuse) give us a bit of an edge compared to...
I know our defense is better than it was in 2022 when we stifled their offense. And, they haven’t played anyone. UNC’s defense?? PULeeze! And they struggled to score 21 on them.
Is my memory that bad, or did we have this same Duke team dominated for 3 quarters 2 years ago iirc. We led 20-6, with our very weak defense smothering their offense, then they rallied in the 4th quarter to force OT which we won, but I blame that on our defense and letting up on offense, rather...
