Somehow I missed that. Thanks. Kinda strange that he's now on staff as a defensive quality control analyst, although when he was at GT in the early 2000's as a GA he worked on the defensive side with CJT.
If we could somehow keep a strand of real option football to go along with the "pro"...
I've seen Coach Cook mentioned a few times over the last month or so. Coach Cook is not on staff at GT. He left after 2015 I believe to be the OC at GSU. He hasn't been here for 3'ish years. Coach Candeto took his place as QB/BB coach.
I think with CPJ's offense, a guy like Juanyeh could've been a major difference maker. I don't think that's true with most other offenses though. Man-to-man (which teams had to play against us) makes this guy a match-up nightmare. Zone, not so much. He's just another typical WR with typical...
DMo is more valuable to our recruiting than almost anyone else we have on staff. When recruiting visits happen, they spend an extensive amount of time with DMo and he leads several of the sessions. He talks up GT better than anyone I've ever seen. I've been to two meetings in middle Georgia...
And, easily could've won 9 or 10 or even 11. Also could've lost a couple more as well. There's often not a ton of difference at GT between 5 wins and 10 wins.
Try to remember when we had a good QB. It wasn't long ago. How good was our offense then??
It's very likely we will have that kind of QB again very soon (Graham and Yates).
Where did the 212 come from? 222 makes a lot more sense.
(I didn't read this whole thread, I jumped in around page 170 or so - I guess the 212 came up before that.)
I understand how you feel. But, I think there's a better way to think about this ... Here is something @Vespidae wrote in another thread ("Moving On" I think is the thread title) that I think is the most brilliant thing I've read related to GT's football program in a long time.
Regardless of...
I think you're proving a point, but not the one you're after.
"If we keep passing the ball 5 times a game... " false
"... every year better be 2014" WTH? Does that have even a hint of fairness? So, if we pass a lot we can lose a lot of games, and it's fine. But, if we don't pass a lot we...
If you were totally unaware of offensive system (or if you thought he ran whatever offense you prefer) and saw his resume, would you think slam-dunk then? If not, what would be the reason and who would realistically be a "slam-dunk" that we could get (ie not Saban or Meyer)?
Well said. I agree, I can deal with group 1 and 2. I'm a card carrying member of Group 1 and like to visit with Group 2 often. It's hard for me to enjoy conversation with Group 3, especially when they just have a shtick rather than a good nature and basic rationality. But, I agree, even...
My subtlety is not lost (and not really that subtle).
This is my hope and my own reasoning of possibility. It is not inside info or anything like that.
With the right coordinators, I don't disagree. That's the Dabo-model. A HC who is mostly a recruiter and organizer who is willing to take a relatively low salary so that he can pay upper-echelon coordinators. I like that model actually and think it is one that could make a lot of sense at GT.
