Keep in mind that the statistics look at all Div 1 teams. IMO that means a P5 team that is avg in a ranking - so in the 60's, is actually below avg among its peers as most of the top spots are taken by the P5 schools and most of the lower rankings are taken by the non P5 schools.
For example...
At least for now it has made HS recruiting much less important in college coaches eyes.
They basically expect any HS player they sign to eventually transfer.
There is some hope that once the COVID players exit (after this year) that the balance may change a little, but in general HS recruiting...

ACC Strength of Schedules - once again GT with the hardest.

I see L'ville as a 50/50 game. One of the reasons I think it is so important. To get to a bowl game we have to win a couple of 50/50 type games.
We get a legit test in week 1 - but not an opponent we are overmatched with talent wise.
I do think L'ville upgraded at coach with Brohm - but they...
I'm thinking 6-6 or 7-5 right now, but we'll see once the games start. L'ville is a great early test to see where we are. A game that should be competitive and could go either way.
Week 4 at Wake is probably the most important on the schedule. Teams have had a chance to work out a few early...
“We couldn’t be more excited to build on the great pregame traditions of Georgia Tech football by bringing them to one of the most vibrant locations of our campus and our city – North Avenue,” director of athletics J Batt said. “Being in the shadow of Bobby Dodd Stadium and Tech Tower, Helluva...
Just because 10 schools got vetted, doesn't mean 10 schools are going to get bids, heck it doesn't even mean 1 school will get a bid.
I believe at most 4 of those schools get bids. I don't see many of them bringing enough value to be additive to any media contract.
Big 12 is sort of...
Basically almost everyone on the list who had not made an announcement returned.
Here are the players that returned:
Quentin Post - BC
PJ Hall - Clemson
Joe Girard - transferred from Syracuse to Clemson
Jeremy Roach - Duke (maybe the biggest surprise)
Miles Kelly - GT
Norchad Ormier - Miami...
I fully expect the ACC to be around in 2036. It will likely have a different set of members - though I believe more than 2/3 of the current members will still be members in 2036.
The piece so many fans seem to miss is that schools have to have somewhere to go in order to leave. They can *****...
The money goes to the B12 who is going to distribute it to the remaining members (those that were in the league prior to TX and OK announcing their departures).
The B12 is not dissolving. They signed new media contracts and the GOR remains in effect.
The key was Texas and OK were waiting...
They didn't sidestep it.
They waited for it to expire. Or more accurately, they waited until it had 1 year left to expire and then negotiated a $50M exit each to leave 1 year early.
They did not try to challenge the GOR legally. Originally they planned to simply wait the GOR out (it would...
FWIW, Klintman is staying in the draft.
He chose not to participate in the combine and is starting to show up on some 1st round mocks. Chatter is he may have a 1st round promise.
Roach actually decided to go back to Duke.
Interesting write-up on how GoR's have kept (and likely will continue to keep) 2 Power conferences together. Also, how B12 and ACC's GoR's are basically identical...
I'd take the over at 4.5. If we end up under that it would be a really disappointing outcome and Key's honeymoon would be really short.
I'm looking at 6-6 +-1. I lean toward 7-5 more than 5-7, but that might just be pre-season optimism.
Just hoping we make a bowl this year and then lets keep...
That article is certainly going to get SEC lawyers looking carefully at the Texas and OK additions to make sure nothing was mixed. The big difference though is that the B1G was negotiating all new media rights while the SEC just added 2 more programs to its current deal. I also imagine it will...
The e-gaming stuff is interesting and wouldn't surprise me in the long term.
My son, who turned 20 this week, has very little interest in traditional sports. But he has alot of interest in gaming.
He might go to a football or basketball game with me if I take him just to spend time with me, but...
I wish I had the study on hand but there was one a couple of years ago looking at the demographics of the TV viewers for all the major US Sports.
College football had one of the older "avg age" (I believe it was about 55). Not super old yet but significantly older than NBA, MLS, and MLB and a...
This is my view right now.
The Big 2 have expanded with programs that were in conferences with media contracts that were coming up in a year or two.
If there is going to be any expansion right now it is likely PAC teams where they don't currently have a media contract. But that is assuming...
CDS really remade this roster over quickly.
It looks very different than last year's team. More length and athleticism, especially in the frontcourt.
If Kelly comes back then I expect to see Sturdy/Abrams/Kelly/Terry eat up the guard minutes (and Kelly could play some three as well). Forrest...
