    Impact player 2017

I have to be honest, I knew little to nothing about TD Roof and pretty much rolled my eyes when I heard he was a recruit. After seeing his film though, I can see he is worth a scholarship. At a bare minimum he should be a really really good special teams player and those guys are important. He...

    JT's future role

After watching the Patriots roll up 500 yards in the air on a ton of throws to slot guys, I got to thinking. What do guys like Endleman and Amendola have on JT in terms of quicks etc? I heard JT was trying out as a CB, but why not a slot guy? Who is quicker in short spaces with great direction...

Will Griffin and Gray be the best pair of safeties under Johnson?

Haha memories. I had the joy of playing a single summer season of baseball with him. I would say he was the hardest hitter of all safeties. He was surprisingly physical guy for not being huge (like Swilling let's say). Burnett is a pretty fast guy though. Ricardo wasn't quite in that mold. He...

Will Griffin and Gray be the best pair of safeties under Johnson?

Morgan Burnett was the best TECH safety in my memory, which goes back to 1979.

    What would've happened...

I seem to remember DJ Donley making crazy catches for us in that last bowl game before CPJ. While I certainly appreciate all of JFN's contributions, I don't think he had much influence on the long term future of our coach. As someone said before, CPJ knows how to win. Had the cupboard been bare...

Dedrick Mills (updates, not necessarily bad news)

I was just about to say the same thing. Mills reminds me of no back in GT history. I expect big things.

    Natty

Trey may be smaller, but it is creepy how much he looks like his old man did.

    Favorite COFH Game

1984. It came out of nowhere. Butt whooping. Then 2008. Then 2014. Then 2016. Then 1990.

Tennessee game most important of CPJ's Career?

Next game is always biggest. Just saying. Looking backwards, it will not have been. Looking forward, absolutely.

    Next years QB

If MJ ends up being the starting QB, it will be good news for Mills. Having a QB who can run between the tackles will make things pretty difficult for the defense when DM is the other guy slamming forward every play. Things are going to open up in there. It is pretty tough to commit to stopping...

77% of the starters for NFL Championships weren't 4 or 5 Stars

How many All Americans are there? If you take all of the cfb signees in total and divide by 45 you have the number of All Americans? I don't know what the numbers are, but that doesn't sound right. Maybe that number includes all teams (first, second, honorable mention etc).

Can Georgia Tech win a National Championship with CPJ?

We won an Orange Bowl against a team that was was in the top 5 for the vast majority of the season just two years ago. That pretty much defines us as a team that "could" do it under this coach. There is not a whole lot of room left to go up from an Orange Bowl win. With that said, winning a...

77% of the starters for NFL Championships weren't 4 or 5 Stars

What this tells me, most assuredly, is that it is perfectly possible to build a championship team at any level (cfb or nfl) with a majority of 3 star type players. I have always felt this way and nothing in that report urges me to change my mindset. Any person with eyeballs and a certain level...

    Next years QB

Of course Nesbitt wasn't slow and neither was Washington. However, in this sport, if you are going to beat angles angles and take a certain number of breakout runs to the house, you have to be fast. What Nesbitt had was amazing agility and balance for a big, physical QB. He was great in tight...

    Next years QB

I guess I need to remind everybody that MJ, in his first collegiate start as a sub, on the road, beat a top 20 team (in one-sided fashion) that had been giving us fits, in one of the toughest venues to play in as a visitor. He had poise and he played without fear. It is hard to win there and he...

Life after Paul Johnson.... hypothetical question

Of course a down period isn't mandatory. It is just highly likely. For sake of argument, if we hired a coach who ran a pro style system, how likely would it be that we compete right away with our roster? Our OL are great in our system, but if you take their hand off the ground and ask them to...

Life after Paul Johnson.... hypothetical question

I hear you and I agree to a point, but in this specific case we are still talking about staying with the option.

Life after Paul Johnson.... hypothetical question

For those of you willing to change system for a new coach I ask this question: are you willing to go through a three year down period to allow the roster to turn over? Most around here go bat %$#@ crazy after a single loss, let alone a few losing seasons back to back. Our roster is not built for...

    2017 OL

I don't think Bryan was physically ready for OG as a frosh. He had a good season there this year. He is a bigger stronger kid now.
