I don't think they hired Thacker for his defense. They hired him for any insight he has in to our offense and Faulkner's way of thinking and planning which he possibly learned from practicing against Faulkner's offense and in coaches' meetings. UGA had a difficult time with our offense last year...

Sure they know Faulkner but it wasn't Faulkner's offense that was run while he was at UGA, it was the OC's offense. And that offense wasn't designed to run with the caliber of players we have.

Though Thacker is probably a nice guy, he has never proven he was a successful P5 (or P4 if you prefer) DC. Way too soft, his players never taught to tackle properly while coaching 4-1/2 years at Tech. UGA got him on the cheap to milk him on our secrets and Thacker gets one season at a factory...

No offense to Ramsey, but I don't think a coach as successful as Schulman has been as an associate head coach would be interested in taking a job as a plain assistant coach where Ramsey is the head coach in waiting.

If we can beat 2 out of 4 of FSU, L'ville, Miami, UNC, I figure we have a good chance to get 7 wins by beating GSU, Syracuse, VMI, Duke, and either VT or NCSU. So beating FSU in our first game will be a huge step towards that goal. I can't remember when my preseason koolaid has tasted so good.

Off topic but I find Olympic Rugby Sevens fascinating and think many of you football fans will too. 7 players per side, 7 minutes halves, games last 20-30 minutes. Semi finals are at 9:30- 10:30am Saturday on CNBC. Bronze/Gold at 7:00-8:00pm USA also tomorrow.

That game was by far my worse game climate wise and disappointment. I had promised my wife a great time staying in South Beach with warm weather after taking her to the ACCCG in 2006 where I was sick and wouldn't leave the game until we took the lead, which we never did. I'm not sure about this. Arm strength should also be a factor in who plays RF if the non traditional player has much weaker arm strength.

Norvell knows how good Haynes King is. Coach recruited him out high school and praised him on his development in college.

Key was asked in the ACC huddle if he had any fun things lined up for his players while in Dublin. He said no, this is not a vacation nor is it a bowl game. We are going to play to win a football game. :-)
