  1. Conference Realignment

But how will we go off topic?
  2. Faulkner Raise

It’s because our D only practiced against that dadgummed option.
  3. I’m making a documentary about the 2014 season for its 10th anniversary

Forward progress can’t be reviewed. They’ve stolen enough from us. They are not allowed to have this gripe and we don’t need to validate it ;)
  4. I’m making a documentary about the 2014 season for its 10th anniversary

Not really… they flat out took “97 away from us. we made our own luck in ‘99. Defensive stand and then the call to kick on 3rd down… all us. The refs just didn’t take it away that time! Jasper Thanks was just a rare occasion that they made the right call. :)
  5. I’m making a documentary about the 2014 season for its 10th anniversary

The one I recall was ‘97. I remember because I had gone home for Thanksgiving (out of state) so I found a place I could watch on TV. We trailed all day, finally took the lead with under a minute. D was on skates deep into our own territory when T. Tillman stepped right in front of a pass to...
  6. New Pro Jackets Progress

While I’ll appreciate your effort to somewhat validate my question, I can assure you that my scorekeeping tenure does not predate the war. :D I concede that I (and my advisors in the 70s /80s) were mistaken. Edit - in hindsight, one of my advisors may have indeed learned before the war, so the...
  7. New Pro Jackets Progress

Yes… I should’ve known that a solution so elegantly simplistic has no place in baseball statistics.:D I knew that the ground ball was not, but always thought a fly out to move a runner was. So a bunt for an out that moves a runner is always a sacrifice. A fly out that moves a runner may be a...
  8. New Pro Jackets Progress

Learn something every day… Has that always been the interpretation? I was taught wrong 40+ years ago? I thought a fly ball that allows a runner to tag and advance was a sacrifice…. Oh the score books I ruined!!
  9. New Pro Jackets Progress

All of these years I have been under the impression that’s exactly what a sacrifice is… an out that moves a runner. “Sac RBI” is an additional distinction if that runner moves home.
  10. Offseason Media 2024

Oh we definitely pulled some “upsets” the last couple years. I’m hoping that we beat a couple of this year’s “projected losses” and we can all look back and realize they weren’t really upsets after the fact. In other words, the more we improve, the fewer upset opportunities we will have!
  11. Offseason Media 2024

Agree… clean up the stinkers and pull an upset or two and all of a sudden… Also, some of these are only looking like upsets because of who we think we are. At some point, we just become a better team and some of these “upsets” might just be solid wins.
  12. Clemson wants us out of the ACC

Please keep posting the names of these places. You guys are providing a roadmap of places I intend to avoid for the rest of my days! No offense to your home intended, of course :D
  13. Mutts

    It’s a rap sheet. Don't over think it. (y)
  14. Article on Brent Key

Since you drew the correlation to Curry (and him likely being advised to move on)... I hope Key has his choice of jobs at some point in his future. I also hope he catches lightning in a bottle at Tech before anyone can get in his ear and tell him he has done all that he can do here. I won't...
  15. Conference Realignment

Seems like a lot of that on Twitter… sensational tweet with link to content that says nothing of the sort. Kinda like how newspaper editors would come up with headlines that may or may not have anything to do with the content of the article…
  16. Conference Realignment

Add to that, if there really is an all or nothing decision for ESPN next year, the ACC would not want to have any appearance of letting FSU go. Even if FSU came up with huge money to leave, there is no benefit to showing any signs of willingness to negotiate before you have an ESPN commitment...
  17. Conference Realignment

I’m right here with you. Although I believe the intent is to be rock solid through 2036, the wording WRT the ESPN deal is just unfortunate enough to give people an argument… of course back when this was all done, I’m sure no one contemplated a scenario where ESPN would or could leave so long as...
