Always? We have a lot of variations. If the LT seals the DE the play works and the pitch relationship can develop, assuming parker can stay engaged. Would still be weird with parker and the LB between TM and the AB, but maybe CPJ was trying something different? If the DE is sealed and that OLB...

Jalen Camp: Catch or No Catch?

That was a blown call for sure - but if you go back and watch it - I think I know why they called PI. Lynch ran right at the DB, and the DB pushed him high, he lost balance. He grabbed the DBs arm so as not to fall over backwards. I think the official saw the grab but not the push.

I know the flexbone is based off of R&S concepts. However, our route trees are extremely basic in practice. We run curls, outs, and wheel/fly. Almost no drags, slants crossers, etc. The R&S utilized by TT and Wazzu has vastly more route concepts, options, etc. I've asked you to show a designed...

The idea is not to improvise....but it happens, especially if protection breaks down and the QB is scrambling. At the end of the route, the WR/AB may run back or try to get into space for a pass. Brad's TD was probably "improvising". There was a pass to Qua when the pocket collapsed and I'm...

I'm played the 3O and I know pro-style. Less familiar with spread and even less familiar with R&S, although I enjoy watching Wazzu and TT. Nevertheless, show me where CPJ has called a play like you are describing. CPJ isn't going to install the R&S. Per Clemson - most issues come with their...

Just a note - in the first half we tried to pass to the field side. This is a longer pass and requires more arm strength. He didn't look good. In the 2nd half CPJ call passes to the boundary side only, which is a shorter, easier pass. He should be better at those. He should be able to throw 15...

If the backers are firing the safeties will be playing man on the AB's. The CBs are on the WR. Who is catching the ball? The BBack should be covered by the firing backer. This sort of attack encourages playing safeties up. I get that you play a little madden and know about 3,5,7 foot drops, but...

Did we even try a field side throw?

Yeah I think TM kinda got spooked when he saw the DE and went into "tuck and try to make something out of this" mode. His pitch man was also in a bad spot at that point. Like 5 yards behind and 1 yard to edge. Not a good spot for a pitch.

Nail on head. We could've ran up 60 points on them just running the dive. Their DE's(think Cash from Duke, he was that good) are decent but their tackles were just on skates. We could get 5-10 easy with a dive every time. I think we ran 2 passing plays total in the second half. A 7 yard curl to...

    Under 150 total yards

Their QB wasn't a statue, he's quick and has some moves. When we lost contain the LBs managed to clean up the play without too much yardage. Good that we have saftey/lb tweeners to chase them down.

LT(Quinney) got swim-moved or just man-handled, DE blew the play up. Everyone else seemed to have made their assignment. I don't think Quinney had a great game in general.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was on Brad not running a curl. He seemed like he knew it was on him. Also a really good illustration on why those short routes are DANGEROUS if you aren't crisp.

Pretty much where i'm at. But 2014 looked pretty bad at first too. So there is some hope.

This isn't personal. I like TM. He's a decent QB and a really good person. I'm concerned that we're still lacking a serviceable passing game. That's on TM, CPJ, and the receivers. I just want us to be better. I want to beat the dwags. This O won't do it. I want to be wrong.
