I agree with Stech's point about the rain. We were totally punchless the whole time it was raining, while for Miami it was business as usual. This game had multiple awful factors.
'cheese, one thing that has helped me through the last couple of days is the realization that almost every year has a share of heartwrenching losses but also has a share of unexpected wins and sheer joy. Maybe we knock of Clemson. Or win every game but Clemson. Still a lot of football left.
It seemed to me we missed Benson's moving the pile, but the G C G combination wasn't opening holes against Miami like they were the other games. Plus the speed of the Miami defensive players quickly shut down plays even when there was a crease.
This game makes me mad again about the Tennessee game. This should have been our first loss. Without Benson and Mitchell, they were the better team. With Benson and Mitchell, we might have pulled it off.
Football is a crazy game. Our guy drops (or the tv guys says the defender punched...
This is the worst case of the spirit of the law vs the letter of the law I've ever heard of. If the NCAA says they don't have jurisdiction on this, they need to start writing some rules pronto to make sure they do in the future. The best word I can think of is disgusting.
Having watched most of this game, I think it's an even bet. FSU had a big back -- wore 9 -- who ran tough like Benson and Miami had a hard time getting him on the ground. Their linemen did not look overly big. We might be able to control the clock and get points. Their running game was...
PJ had a little give and take with Andy Monday night which I took to mean he thinks Marshall will be ready by Miami. Or at least I think it was Marshall he was talking about.
It doesn't look to me like we are getting to the edge very well this year. Or another way to put it is we don't outrun the defense to the corner and several defenders are out there with us. I don't know whether that has to do with the way other teams are defending, poor blocking, or whether...
I've always got one eye on the Bulldogs. I'm fine with a discussion with like-minded folks.
My take is that most years, between now and game day with them, each team will play a game or two which will make it seem like they can't lose. And we'll each play a game or two where it will look...
Mashall continues to amaze me. It seems like most first year quarterbacks for Tech have to learn on the job. Marshall never played QB in a game before, and he looks like a polished veteran.
Bless you, JoeBrew. It was so quiet on the boards after the show I thought maybe it had been cancelled. My local outlet can't get the schedule down. Glad to see your summary.
My two cents: 2015 cost us greatly. We were viewed favorably starting the year. Had we had a so-so year, say 8-5, I think we might have hung in. But that awful year put us right back into oblivion. The good news is we can restore it pretty fast with another good year this year.
Also, I...
First half was a nightmare. I didn't think about Jax at all until this morning, when I saw they are a powerhouse in their division. Then starting thinking about us maybe being tired a flat. And there it was. The pick by Austin seemed huge at the time. Changed the mo.
