Interesting observation from the Tulane-Charlotte game. The Charlotte QB was wearing an Apple watch, but I didn't realize that players were permitted to wear Apple watches during the game. Apparently, it falls under an exception that allows electronic devices to be worn to transmit health data...
Even on obvious calls, our coaches don't seem to have the gumption to argue with the refs. Instead, we'd rather sit down for a spot of tea with them and politely air our grievances without making it sound like the refs messed up. I'd love nothing more than for HCBK to give a HCPJ tongue lashing...
I'm not sure on this one. He seems to generate a lot of strikeouts, but also gives up a ton of runs and gets stung by the long ball. Hopefully the Braves saw something they can unlock, but this one really feels like a stretch.
I agree that they need to keep Fried, I just don't think AA will give him the money or years needed to get it done. It just doesn't fit his MO. He'd rather gamble on upside guys on the cheap than proven guys who will demand fair compensation. The first rumors we heard that AA would play ball...
Framber had a very good year this year and tossed his first career no-no and almost followed that up with back-to-back no-nos if I remember correctly. He then proceeded to be a no-show in the Wild Card Series against Detroit which seems to be a trend for him given that he is 0-4 with an 8.28 ERA...
Welp, the 2024 season is now officially behind us. Teams have a 5-day exclusive negotiating window to re-sign their own free agents before they hit the open market. IMO, if we retain Fried, it'll happen before the exclusive window closes. Time for the Hot Stove to start heating up!
I took Bye >7. Our offense is in a funk and I just don't see this matchup as the game where we "get right". To be clear, this isn't a QB issue, it's been a whole-year issue. Neither King nor Pyron could get the offense flowing and we haven't seen enough out of Philo to see if he's the answer...
I would be shocked if we retain Fried, and was in the camp of trading him last offseason. We really could have used the value he would have brought back and maybe even signed him in free agency this year. He’s not an ace IMO, but he’s one of, if not the best no. 2 in MLB right now.
Albies and...
Freeman hurts. Hurt then, hurts now, probably will hurt forever. I’ve gotten over the anger part. Angry at AA for not giving the guy a fair contract. Angry at Freddie’s agent for going against his client’s wishes and playing dirty. Angry that AA pivoted so quickly to Olsen, essentially snubbing...
Reading between the lines of AA's end-of-season press conference, I'd say Max will not be a Brave next season. His projected contract to me doesn't seem to be crazy, but I'm not convinced AA would pay close to $30M a year for him. As much as it pains me to say, I'm inclined to agree with him...
We also would utilize this when teams were keying off of our motion back and timing the snap from it. It might have been '09(?) against uga that we were getting plays blown up from them timing our motion back, so we switched up the timing and went to this and caught them off guard a good bit...
I wish I could remember off the top of my head, but I just watched one of his games where he called it then snapped it, but I can't remember opponent or year.
Edit: Like @gtrower said, I think it was against uga
Not that every decision we make needs to be ran by Chipper, but I think he's a great source of information and perspective for the organization. Would love to see him come back to the Braves in some capacity even if it's just in the booth. Dude is great up there and I really love when they do...
He had me at "situational hitting"!
In all seriousness, I think he will be a great addition to the organization and be a good voice in these guys' ears. He seems to be focusing on what we complained about all year which is not swinging for the fences every pitch and only swinging at pitches you...
I’m sure special teams have been discussed ad nauseam, but I noticed something today that I would implore you to explore if you have the time. Henry Freer is a terrible long snapper. His snaps are slow and arched whereas VT’s long snapper was snapping them quick and direct. In fact, most of the...
Defense balled out today and carried the momentum from the second half of the ND game. Good to see a pass rush once again.
Offense looked awful but Philo showed out and proved he belongs. The line didn’t do any favors and got pushed around all day long which is getting to be an all too familiar...
I was really bummed when we didn't land him as the next HC, and now I'm even more bummed that he's no longer with us. Genuinely good dude that will be missed.
Don't remember Bacot's stats, but Drummond can grab you 20 boards a game and doesn't command the ball. Sign me up for that kind of player any day of the week.
