That's the thing, I don't live in Atlanta lol. I live in Western PA, so Annapolis would be ~4 hrs and CLT would be ~6. That's why I said "selfishly", because I know what's ideal for me isn't ideal for most people on here.
Selfishly hoping for Annapolis or Charlotte so that it's within a reasonable driving distance for me. Flying to and from Tampa right around Christmas was a real pain in the a** last year.
To be clear, my point was that the VT guy is clueless, and we shouldn't take him seriously. That's all that Alex is saying, and obviously he and KQ are in the know.

Breaking news: Georgia Tech QB Haynes King may or may not play Saturday at Virginia Tech, and anyone reporting definitively one way or another is just guessing. My source is me.
— Alex Farrer (@AFarrersports) October...
Really guys? We're trusting this random VT 247 guy for our factual updates? Haynes might actually end up being out, but this guy has no idea what he's talking about. As KQ said last night, if HK ends up feeling well enough, he'll play.
I respectfully disagree that they left because they don't control the money anymore — they retired because the things that college sports used to be about (getting an education, creating long-term value for yourself, character development) are no longer present. It's just like Saban said after...
So sad. I really hate to see all of the legendary coaches we've lost from the sport recently. Roy, K, Jay Wright, Boeheim, and now Bennett. Feels like they've all retired in the blink of an eye.
Tickets for me and my group were delivered today via email from the VT ticket office. Check your emails if you purchased them. Mine are in 236, but I know some others are in 235.
That's not giving Tech fans priority to buy tickets. It's giving season ticket holders priority seating ASSIGNMENT, which is a HUGE difference. The key phrase in the release is "seats for Georgia Tech season ticket members who purchase tickets". In other words, we're given priority after we've...
Way to build up a strawman. Obviously I'm not referring to all Tech alumni/fans everywhere. I'm referring to people who actually would consider coming to a game.
Where do you see that Tech fans have first dibs at tickets? Unless you have specific knowledge, I'm willing to bet that isn't true. By agreeing to this deal, we forfeit control over ticket sales to MBS or whoever is running this thing.
Also, even at full strength, Tech's fanbase would max out...
Again, I hate this narrative. Was this true during the Collins era? Sure, but that was anomalous. I was at COFH last year, and we absolutely had home field advantage. We can argue about just how much of an advantage it was, but it was definitely better than the road game environment we'll have...
I would be less upset about this had I not been to previous Tech games at the Benz. Even though they're technically home games, MBS treats them as neutral site — blows the horn when the other team scores, plays their fight song if needed, gives visiting fans an equal opportunity to buy tix, etc...
I don't know that I'd go that far, but this certainly should erase any goodwill he's earned with the fanbase. I 100% agree that any other fanbase would crucify their AD for this as it relates to a rivalry game. If the construction plans are interfering with your ability to host a game, then...
As someone who was at COFH last year, it was not "mostly red". It was somewhere close to 50/50, and it felt like a Tech home game because the Tech fans were closer to the field. Having it at MBS 100% guarantees that it will be a u(sic)ga home game.
I understand that money is important (particularly given the financial situation our department is in), but this is the first time our home game in the series won't be played at BDS since 1913 (when it opened). Is 10 million dollars worth scrapping 100+ years of history and giving u(sic)ga a...
