  1. Louisville Postgame

Many of us were first-guessing a lot of the failed third and fourth down plays. More importantly: so was the Louisville D. And the Cuse D.
  2. Louisville Postgame

I don’t think there was too much “lucky to be close” here. Plenty of luck going the other way. Plenty working throughout the game. But at the end of the day, on the plays that mattered most we called our lowest-success plays.
  3. Louisville Postgame

Is it Faulkner or Key? (Not rhetorical, I don’t know. But my gut says Key based on what he’s expressed as his preference.)
  4. Louisville Postgame

We can win more games but we could’ve won this one too. We will win by taking what we’re given, not by imposing will. We aren’t Saban’s Alabama.
  5. Louisville Postgame

Winning the offensive stats is a score effect mirage since they were both playing with the lead AND got 14 points without their offense on the field to get there Which isn’t to say that our passing game was bad or that our run D was bad… but the other two units were bad despite those Louisville...
  6. Louisville Postgame

The problem isn’t a “burn it down” situation but it’s VERY obvious what one major problem has been in both losses and we have not done anything to address it.
  7. Louisville Postgame

Passing D was bad. Running D looked solid. D didn’t end up with too embarrassing numbers because they were barely out there for the end of the game. But props for the safety but the O play calling wasted the chance before that led to it and the one it created.
  8. Louisville Postgame

We have to be able to get a yard. It doesn’t have to be done by running up the middle. We gave up a 4th and 1 that notably did NOT go up the middle since we were playing well against their run.
  9. GAMEDAY!!!!!

OL wasn't great at the start of last year but offense was better. We're doing more of what Key wants to do and less of what's working and what worked early last year (outside of against FSU). Key has told us he wants to do what we're trying to do. But are we just gonna try to keep doing it...
  10. 2024 non-GT games thread

    Let's break that record.
  11. TN to add 'talent fee' to all tickets

Even setting aside the players side - I think, without some sort of consolidation/superleague, there’s too many schools in D1 FBS to realistically have them all even be able to come to the table with a collective bargaining proposal that the big factories would have any intent of following.
  12. Conference Realignment

I don’t have access past their paywall, but is it opinion, or media pushback initiated from more central ACC sources to counter Clemson/FSU-sourced rumors about the ACC giving in on things soon? That could also be expected.
  13. Conference Realignment

Grew up there, DFW definitely isn’t Atlanta in terms of overall level of CFB interest. And SMU will have an uphill climb against UT, A&M, OU, etc. Lots of alums of those and lots of transplants in general in DFW (similar to Atlanta in that way). TCU is on the other, smaller, side of the...
  14. TN to add 'talent fee' to all tickets

The most effective way to deal with illegal bagmen is to make the bottom 80% of schools in the Big 10/SEC incentives to actually deal with the top 20% cheating. Currently they’re incentivized instead to also cheat to stay above the rest of D1. I don’t think there’s a way to do that short of a...
  15. TN to add 'talent fee' to all tickets

I think a cap is dicey legally but I think the NCAA lawyers are motivated by many of their stakeholder schools to try to avoid a true Wild West AND to try to ignore true collective bargaining. So they’re hail marying. Imagine if you worked for a company and them and their top competitors all...
  16. TN to add 'talent fee' to all tickets

A CBA/union contract for sure; but I didn’t think a class action could have a “we’re gonna keep doing it and future affected people who aren’t in the class have no further recourse” conclusion. Which I believe is a big part of the issue with the current case vs actually making a CBA. IMO this...
  17. TN to add 'talent fee' to all tickets

Can the result of a class action bind future members of the class in the same way a union contract can?
  18. TN to add 'talent fee' to all tickets

Feels like a framing that’s designed to get some backlash.
  19. FSU

FSU throwing games to get their boosters $$$ would be AMAZING when everyone from the gambling companies to the feds to the conferences all came down on them
  20. On To Louisville

If we can grab some turnovers I’ll feel a lot better. Shough looks good but here’s a difference between him and McCord - career TD/INT: McCord: 35/9 (27/8 before this year) Shough: 42/17 (36/17 before this year) Louisville has played nobody so far which pads that a bit, but he’s definitely...
