    Kenny Cooper is Back

Also, Braun, Lee, and Cooper would have to be just about the most athletic GCG in the country.

    CPJ names kick returners

I remember when we were recruiting guys like Carpenter and Oliver and Henderson and Thomas and Showell, thinking to myself that there would be quite a few transfers just because there wasn't enough playing time to go around. little did I realize Coach Johnson's master plan was to hire a...

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's game week!!!!!!

GUYS! In less than a week we get to see Paul Johnson's defense paired with an attacking defense for the first time that I can remember (certainly before Navy)! In less than a week we get to see new uniforms! In less than a week we get to see returning starters playing...

Freshman Austin Smith to play, says CPJ...

You know, I'm not confident saying I know what looks good in this scheme yet. I'm actually still not a hundred percent sold that ASA is big enough. Lol, years of football successes when I was expecting failures and failures when I was expecting successes have crushed my self-confidence in this...

What are your measures for success with the new defense?

GT finished 40th out of 65 P5 teams. That's a little worse than textbook mediocre. TO me, 38th percentile is pretty cruddy.

    Simplify

I've long said that this is the litmus test to know how well someone understands a subject. Somebody who really deeply understands something can explain it to anyone, on any level of understanding, from completely unfamiliar, to a graduate student. if you can explain something so a novice...

Offense and defense ACC coastal division common opponent stats

Yes I get all that. I still think PPD is the important stat,BUT If you really wanted the right stat it would be PPD minus the marginal expected point value of average field position difference, calculated to be how many additional points/Drive/yard saved in field position a standardized offense...

Offense and defense ACC coastal division common opponent stats

This is why I value PPD over YPP. YPP only matters inasmuch as it contributes to PPD.

    Simplify

To me it means less thinking. He wants the defense playing unencumbered by hesitation. Simplicity isn't the goal in and of itself, Simplicity is a means to an end. If you can get the guys playing at top speed and reacting instantly with a complex defense, my guess is he's perfectly fine with that.

What are your measures for success with the new defense?

the only issue for me is they don't release it until like 6 or 8 weeks into the season to make sure they've got enough data so that they're getting results they can have confidence in.

What are your measures for success with the new defense?

    Dfei is essentially a sos-adjusted ppd/ypp matrix.

CPJ has been less than "not complimentary". He's been downright critical. I'm worried about the kicking game.
