  1. Conference Realignment

Using their position to overcharge FSU for their media rights in order to leave is extortion. Again. Not hyperbole.
  2. Conference Realignment

There is no evidence that the Big 10 will pay that much for FSU, nor is there any evidence that FSU's value in the ACC is equal to FSU's value in the Big 10. Overcharging significantly, making it impossible to leave without paying a clear penalty on top of fair market rights is certainly extortion.
  3. Conference Realignment

    Not hyperbole.
  4. Conference Realignment

This would just start a price war that would be settled in court. The ACC can't just attempt to extort them for any unreasonable amount they feel like. That would just boost FSU's case against them.
  5. Conference Realignment

We will see. Can I assume that you too think FSU will be in the ACC in 2035?
  6. Conference Realignment

Here is an article I posted earlier about FSU and their fund raising endeavors. https://billfarley.substack.com/p/fsus-acc-exit-hinges-on-a-bidding. They will raise what they need to raise. They aren't going to go broke doing so.
  7. Conference Realignment

FSU is actively fund raising and working with private equity firms to front the money for the buyout. Sure they are going to try to get it reduced, but they are gone no matter what the price is.
  8. Conference Realignment

Im just trying to make the point that hardly any of you actually believe what you are saying. You all know FSU isn't going to be here in 2035 and will be gone before the GOR expires.
  9. Conference Realignment

Affordable for who? The teams paying the buyouts? FSU is ready for that now. You guys are arguing the ACC won't accept the check.
  10. Conference Realignment

Plenty of people have. Try to keep up. Im eager to hear your opinion as well though. Do you personally think FSU is going to be in the ACC in 2035?
  11. Conference Realignment

Ok, the goal is to prevent teams from leaving, but you are also arguing that teams will start leaving in the 2030-2033 range well before the GOR ends. How does that make sense?
  12. Conference Realignment

None. Ive been very clear on that. I usually only give that response when someone questions my lack of interpretation into legalese. If you are going to claim superior knowledge in the realm of the law then I want to see receipts.
  13. Conference Realignment

You guys don't seem to understand that leaving without your media rights is not possible. Might as well claim that leaving a the top floor of a burning building is possible because you can jump out of the window.
  14. Conference Realignment

The truth is, I don't think a single person here believes FSU will be here in 2035. There has been alot of back and forth on the verbiage in the complaints and motions. One side has argued tooth and nail that the GOR is iron clad and that the ACC will not entertain the idea of selling media...
  15. Conference Realignment

I think you and others here are cherry picking which words you want to have meaning and which ones you want to ignore while pretending you have legal expertise.
  16. Conference Realignment

That doesn't matter unless you get a majority of teams to dissolve the conference. The ACC will block other teams from leaving as well won't they? Why wouldnt they?
  17. Conference Realignment

Why would the ACC be worried about what other conferences are doing? If anything they should delay until after the other conferences strike their new deals right? To keep their teams locked up so they cant leave? You guys can't argue that the GOR is unbreakable and the ACC will never let FSU...
  18. Conference Realignment

Where did you get your law degree from?
  19. Conference Realignment

Are we really wanting to go through this circle again? The bylaws that describe the process for leaving and the exit fees. Both of which don't really exist as a team can't leave due to the GOR.
  20. Conference Realignment

Is the GOR less enforcable after 2030? How can you be so sure that the ACC will not even entertain the idea of letting FSU repurchase their media rights in 2029 but will be more than willing in 2030? Why wouldnt they force FSU and every other ACC team to stay for the full length of the GOR?
