Also there has not been a reseating since club section was introduced so people there aren't necessarily high level long term donors. We are due for a reseating.
I listened briefly to 680 yesterday and they almost choked over their words when describing the coach of the year award as the Bobby Dodd COTY award. It's like they were ashamed of it. Just confirmed further why I don't listen regularly.
We didn't sell 50k seats to the Clemson game in 2014 in the midst of our best season in a decade. We were 8-2 and we couldn't convince 50k folks to show up on a beautiful fall afternoon for senior day. I truly do not understand our fans.
The rules about passing over better teams, if they even still apply, only prevented bowls from picking a team with two or more additional conference loses than the other available team. Standings are so compact I could see just about anything happening.
Tech Fund contributions are by definition tied to the purchase of season tickets and as of 1/1/2018 are no longer deductible. AT Fund contributions are still deductible if you itemize which is now quite unlikely given the bump in the standard deduction and limit on deductibility of local income...
Tech Fund contributions are no longer tax deductible so I wouldn’t be surprised if the pricing structure changes. We paid ours one year in advance and asked if we could pay more but were told things could change in the future so one year was all they would let us pre-fund the Tech Fund.
Reducing the seating in prime locations would result in a significant financial loss for the AA. Only 67% of seats were sold but I bet 90% of prime locations with significant Tech Fund donation requirements were sold.
I also was surprised by the 3rd down pass call prior to our fg. I wonder if maybe WW kicks better from the left hash and a pass would either result in a td or keep ball on the left hash.
The number of fans in attendance was embarrassing given the momentum the team has, game time, and incredible weather. The fans that showed up were loud and proud and did their best to make up for those who couldn't bother to make it out to support our student-athletes.
This is not new and I mentioned it on every fan survey the past several years. We need someone coordinated with the band that knows something about football games and what is appropriate and when.
Early in the season we had zero confidence in our FG unit, heck we couldn't kick the extra point consistently. Wesley Wells has made us less desperate for TDs and CPJ's strategy has adjusted.
