You are responsible for what you know about. I am unaware of what you speak regarding GT and Peterson. I'd welcome your enlightenment on whatever you're talking about. Feel free to PM me, so as not to muddy the thread more, you could just send a link if that's easier.
This is a really bad argument. Seriously. I want to bring out the Billy Madison line on this thing ... "At no point in this rambling, incoherent, ... I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul."
I never said there weren't gray areas in the world. It seems you want to make...
I want to understand what you’re saying. I feel like there’s a lot of self-contradiction in what you wrote, but it’s quite possible I’m just not understanding you.
Is this what you’re saying:
It’s not right for schools to revoke players’ scholarships just because they aren’t good enough to see...
It's very important to get the argument right to have any chance at understanding and resolution. It's not about how many players leave, it's about why the players leave. If 47 players left because it was their choice due to their own priority of playing time, there is no issue there. Or, if...
It depends on what "cut" means - which goes back to my main question a few posts ago. The difference between cutting in little league and high school is that it doesn't affect that young person's life and they were never lied to. It doesn't cost them their degree. At GT if they get cut with...
This seems like a prime opportunity for some investigative journalism. Ken Seguira, if you read this board/thread, this would be a story of great interest. How do the transfers really work at GT and elsewhere? What actual ultimatums are laid down by the coaches at GT and others in the...
The arguments in this thread are so hard to follow. I understand the ones who are on the side of integrity. I do not understand the ones who are now all in with the dark side of things. The ones on that dark side are making little sense with varying versions of this story.
This is my attempt...
I remember us doing the diamond formation thing in that UNC game and it not working very well. And, CPJ didn't think we were good enough at any part of our offense (because, in his opinion, we were trying to do too much), which is when we decided to scrap it. I'm not saying CPJ was right, that...
What if we get in to that 20-spot in the recruiting rankings? Should that also be taken with a big grain of salt, so that we should also consider it a push when we face teams who were like us in that 50-range? Ie, 50 is just as good as 20, and so we shouldn't get excited at all about a higher...
I like this argument because it's logical. It's based on a presupposition, as all arguments ultimately are, but if that presupposition is true then the argument holds. I hope it bears out.
And, then we lost several games after that and weren't ranked as well offensively as we had been. Then CPJ went back to focusing on being good at the option and 2014 happened (won 12 games) and then had a bad year with injuries and such and only won 3 games and then won 9 games the next year...
So, if everybody else is a push talent-wise, does that mean that the recruiting rankings (where they are 20-30 spots higher, ie about 2 times better than us) are not to be taken seriously in your opinion?
I agree. I think part of my drive here is to help myself and others to analyze our own analysis (meta-analysis) of recruiting and talent and all that stuff ... this seems like an important task since that is now the stated driving factor for the success of GT football under this new regime...
I've been told by a few on this board that not all 3-stars are equal, there are high 3-stars and low 3-stars. I don't have a problem with that argument, and can probably even buy into it. Also, the 4-star tag has not been very good to us lately for some reason. Most of our 4* recruits have...
