I think they were trying to send a message and beat on us some for last year. They also expected to beat us into a 4th qtr submission. I thought they stuck with the run too long while trying to impose their will physically. Turns out, we were the tougher, more physical team.

I heard that too and the best explanation I have is that the official announced it wrong. Probably didn’t pay much attention since it was going to be declined to take the targeting. Would have been interesting if they determined no target… would they have corrected the call? Glad we didn’t...

I am not a staunch advocate for never branching out, but blue pants are never the answer. Just never. Gold on gold GT helmet is pretty dang cool. Gold pants here would’ve been killer.

Slight correction, but otherwise yes, point taken. The top four conf champs receive a top four seeding and first round bye, but the top five get in. ETA - theoretically, a P4 champ CAN be left out. It’s a long shot but in a year like this where Boise St and Army could both be decently ranked...
