Slug, it appears there is an app in Dish that will allow me to watch it on the TV. As of now the app on Dish will only show what is on today and tomorrow. But it looks promising. Other Dish people are encouraged to weigh in on this.
Everything about FSU looked different than in recent past years. There was energy, swagger, and smooth looking plays on offense. Both LInes looked better than in recent years.
One thing I might have missed --- not much was made about this being the second game for the Noles and opener for...
I hope White is the real deal. We have not had much of a rush end in a decade, and we lost some with promise to other schools. It has just killed us in recent years that we cannot hurry a quarterback without blitzing. And our blitzes tend to be picked up and don't make much difference.
My memory of last year -- which is already fuzzy -- is that the first game starters never all played at once the rest of the year. Two or three were always injured, and the subs were a big drop off. Given that, it was hard to say if last year's line ever had a chance to be good.
BTW, I say...
I am more pleased than not. I see many reasons to think we have upgraded with him. But here's the thing: our offensive line blocking has got to get much better or it won't matter which plays we run or who is calling them. Whether through younger talented players getting more game experience...
My thoughts exactly. My first thought after the horrible disappointment of losing Gibbs was "I've always wondered what Smith would do if he got a whole bunch of carries. I guess I'll find out now." In the carries he did get,, he looked like a great combination of fast, shifty, with power.
I wonder if TStan hasn't already been putting out some feelers. Or did the situation only resolve after the two horrific last games?
Please say no more about Gibbs. He is easily the most talented player we have on either side of the ball. It would be awful to lose him. Period.
If Bobo is a...
You're right. It is a good idea. To do a good job of it you would have to have the mind to play chess with a clock ticking. But someone who had some ability like that and only had that sort of thing to think about would be pretty valuable.
Except for the last two games, we had a respectable number of total yards and first downs. Almost every game if you looked at our numbers for those two, you would assume we had scored about 36 points. But our actual number was more like 24. To me, that was a direct result of our o-line being...
No one can know who we hire and whether they will make immediate improvements. But this disaster of a year might prove to have been a good thing. Had we won a couple of more games, there would not be the pressure to make wholesale changes. If we trade up, we can look back on this as necessary...
Some years ago during the summer the quarterbacks and receivers would work out. It wasn't official and there were no coaches. The quarterbacks would pretend to take a snap, the receivers would run routes, and the QB would throw. I know it doesn't simulate a game experience, but it could only...
Comparing us to this year's Georgia team is maybe not a great idea. But I couldn't help but notice their speed advantage, especially on defense. When we had a play which might have gained a few yards someone would show up in a flash to make sure we didn't get much. On our side, our defensive...
This is a great reminder. It's what keeps me watching. When it finally happens it will be the more fantastic because we will probably be underdogs and the Dog faithful will be flabbergasted. When you don't win many, the ones you do win are very special.
