Bobby Dodd Renovation in the NE Stands

I really dislike having that game be a Labor Day Weekend kickoff game. Those games are neutral site games. Not saying that moving home games to MBS is good, but if we do move home games to MBS, they should be home games not neutral site games. The only true home game I remember was the UNC...

    Conference Realignment

He has a different rumor every week. He is one of the ones who last year said that FSU was announcing their departure from the ACC because they already had an invitation to the Big10. He changed the date of the announcement several times as his proclaimed date changed. It isn't just that I...

    Conference Realignment

How the ACC distributes media money has nothing to do with the ESPN contract. ESPN did not negotiate equal payouts to individual conference members. ESPN negotiated a media contract with the copyright holder, the ACC. The ACC determines how to distribute the money.

    Conference Realignment

Going off of @Ponte vedra GT 's reasoning, being in the state of Texas would be even bigger both from a population and a recruiting standpoint than what FSU can offer. However, I doubt that A&M would actually move to the Big10.

    Conference Realignment

Miami is an AAU school. Miami is ranked as a larger brand by many people. Miami gets the Big10 into the FL tv market, and into FL for recruiting. Why are you so certain that FSU is the Florida school that the Big10 would want? I think they would prefer Miami over FSU. However, there is...

What music are you listening to?

I saw Natalie Merchant at Chastain in the 90s. She did a very good show. Unfortunately, the champagne crowd at Chastain didn't pay very much attention to the music.

Highest Revenue Earning Athletic Programs 2023

I don't think our thinking is too far different. My point is much like yours that there are tiers. Is the $15 million significant in terms of being in a different tier? I would say no for the P4 programs. It is all about ratios. $15 million would be extremely significant to Georgia State...

Highest Revenue Earning Athletic Programs 2023

It depends on ratios and perspective. Is someone who makes 135K per year in a different tier than someone who makes $120k? Sure the extra $15k is nice to have, but it doesn't put you in another tier. What about a $265k salary vs $250k? Are those people in a different tier? I was responding...

Highest Revenue Earning Athletic Programs 2023

No it isn't. The difference in payouts from ACC to Big10 in 2023 was about $15 million. The gap is going to increase, but that is not the reason that those three schools were right around #25. Give FSU that extra $15 million and they would move from #18 to #16. Today it isn't as big as the...

    Away game tickets

Unless ESPN has changed things this year: They announce most game times on Monday, 12 days before the games. They have a few games that they put a 7 day hold on. Those game times don't get announced until the Sunday before the games. Those games are usually a collection of two or three games...

    Conference Realignment

I saw a tweet this evening that says : He posted some arguments form a court filing that the Florida AG made. However, none of the parts of the document he posted say anything like what he said. The filing is arguing that the ESPN contract should be available to FSU and to the state. It...

    Conference Realignment

From the GOR document: The ESPN contract is specifically called out in the GOR document. I think this language is a grant of rights for the things that are necessary to carry out a media contract, and specifically those things that are listed in the ESPN contract. I think that if the ESPN...

    Conference Realignment

I think there is a legal argument to be made that the language in the GOR is dependent on the ESPN contract. However, that doesn't mean that it is definite that the GOR doesn't apply if the contract is cancelled. It just means that someone can make a legal argument in court. Winning that case...

    Conference Realignment

I have seen several people project that we will end up with a league of about 60-70 teams. Don't know that it will happen, but that seems reasonable. I don't know that 20 would be enough. That would roughly just be the equivalent of the current SEC or Big10. At 20, you wouldn't have the...

Clemson wants us out of the ACC

You can tell it is the offseason. None of this is real, and none of it is even related to what the fanbases would want. The Fansided sister sites are just running the same story: "Who would XXXXX want to kick out of the ACC". There is no football news. There is no basketball news. There is...

    Conference Realignment

I'm not saying it is fake news. I'm saying that it is a dumb idea. It is probably being promoted as a news story by the private equity firm instead of anyone in the conference. The entire payment to the conference would be less than one year of Bug10 or SEC revenue every year. This would not...

    Conference Realignment

I guess you are just an older-out of touch person who has no idea what it takes to make money. (why should retiring early as a multi-millionaire count for anything? ;)) The current way of thinking is what benefits you today instead of what your choices today will do for you in 10 years from...

    Conference Realignment

And according to TikTok videos, if I take out a 130% home equity loan on my house, pool it with people to arbitrage an Airbnb, I will just sit in my house and make so much passive income that I can't count it all. Doesn't the article state that the athletic directors need more convincing to...
