    Season Parking for Football

I don't remember how that worked for the UNC game. That was the only other game in MBS that was an actual home game instead of a neutral site game controlled by someone other than GT. Maybe somebody remembers and can chime in on how parking worked for that game.

Plus it would hurt FSU in recruiting. Who would want to go play for FSU if they are the only FBS team to have no home games on TV? Kind of the opposite of the 80s when kids wanted to play for ND because they were on TV every week.

    Conference Realignment

That isn't true. I believe the ACC bylaws remove payments to a conference when it announces their intention to leave the conference. The GOR isn't a media contract. It is an assignment of rights to the ACC. IOW, the ACC owns those media rights until 2036. There isn't anything in the GOR...

    Season Parking for Football

I know that the label on the entrance says 6'. I know it gets shorter as you go from the entrance towards the stadium. I just don't know if I could get a 6'6" vehicle into the Northern most part of the deck.

Does anybody know what the height limitations are for Upper Peters parking? On Google street view it shows a 6' limitation at the entrance, but I know I have seen Yukons, Expeditions, and trucks in there before all of which are over 72" tall.

    Conference Realignment

I don't think I have tried to say that FSU being a worse partner is an undeniable fact. It is just my opinion. If you want to look at the things that Texas did to make them a bad partner: The demanded more money than the rest of the conference. They declared publicly that they were the most...

    Conference Realignment

This is the same thing I pointed out about the Josh Pate podcast. He strikes me as a loud and obnoxious guy. He sounds the same as SEC fans arguing at a bar on a Saturday in the fall. Mostly bluster, whether their statements are factual or even are directly opposite of what they said five...

    Conference Realignment

I did say earlier in the thread that McMurphy's quotes are from anonymous sources, so I take them with a grain of salt: The current post you are referring to was just a repudiation of the notion that Texas is a much worse partner than FSU. Even though I don't trust anonymous sources, McMurphy...

    Conference Realignment

With regard to leaving a conference, McMurphy said in a podcast that many teams have changed conferences, and that FSU is the ONLY one to do things with this much damage. He said "There is a right way to do it, and the way that FSU is doing it" I don't know who McMurphy, nor who Josh Pate...

    Conference Realignment

Texas griped a lot and demanded special treatment. However, Texas waited until the GOR was going to run out to leave the conference. (They paid to leave one year early after they had already announced they were leaving at the end of the contract, but they did wait.) FSU sued the ACC. FSU has...

    Conference Realignment

It seems to me that throughout the discussion about the FSU lawsuit, many people are ignoring the character aspect of it. If a person of high character makes a mistake in a business partnership and owns up to it, people will likely forgive it. If a person of low character burns the business to...

    Conference Realignment

The BTN, SECN, and ACCN have a difference of $1 or more depending on whether the media market is in region for the conference. The TV providers pay roughly $1 more per subscriber in Kentucky than they do in Indiana for the SECN because Kentucky has an SEC team while Indiana does not. If the...

    Conference Realignment

It would for the Big10 Network. It wouldn't add more for Fox affiliates or FS1 because those are not specific to the Big10. I don't have good TV household numbers in front of me, but it would add about $1 per TV household to the revenue of the Big10 Network per month.

    Conference Realignment

Which I think kind of plays into Josh Pate's statement that things that are important to fans are not necessarily important to college presidents and athletic directors who actually make the decisions. And that things that are important to the decisions makers are not necessarily important to...

    Conference Realignment

Not really. He said something along the lines of the fans not caring about media markets nor AAU status. He said that most fans don't even have a clue what the AAU is. However it was later in his video that he talked about the "suits" not caring about what fans care about and having different...

    Conference Realignment

The SEC touches North Carolina. If they add North Carolina, they would touch Virginia. North Carolina and Virginia are both large main state schools. They add Virginia and North Carolina media markets in contiguous states. The SEC has seemed to prefer large state schools and has stated that...

    Conference Realignment

There is a difference in those kinds of discussions and the discussions about FSU. McMurphy says that 100% of people he has talked to (University presidents, athletic directors, Big10 officials), do not want to add FSU. That isn't a -- we are not planning further expansion at this point --...

    Conference Realignment

Which goes to my "big question". I think it is possible that in ten years that the top 60-80 schools conduct football outside of the NCAA, but other sports inside the NCAA. It is also possible that they completely break away. If the top teams completely break away the NCAA tournament would...

    Conference Realignment

Just my opinion: A breakaway is inevitable. The NCAA is trying to placate to prevent it, but at best will only end up delaying it. There will be a completely separate association of 60-80 schools. Whether that is football only, or if all of the other sports break away also is the big question.

    Conference Realignment

Another thing he said was kind of funny. He said that there have been several teams that have changed conferences, and many teams that have moved from G5 conferences to P4 conferences. He then said, "There is a right way to do it, and there is the way FSU is doing it."
