So the difference would be the “small” amount of money and that it was not a policy of the school to pay players. But he got what he needed to stay in school.
This seems like more of an argument in favor of NIL than against it.
Not head coach material for sure. But wonder who would take a chance on him as an assistant position where he could add value? In retrospect I see his previous “successes” as having little to do with what he added and more to do with what he inherited and who he was surrounded by.
But I know...
I had the same question. Maybe he really believes it was “more pure” back in his day but 60 Minutes supposedly has the reputation of asking tough questions. “So, Mr Barkley, what were you promised when you chose Auburn and was there any compensation of any kind?”
Maybe he’s telling the truth...
I guess the only question left on here, since we’ve clearly established that Collins was the worst coach all time at Tech, is will anyone take a chance on him in the future? Or, put another way, what will his rehabilitation look like?
And if he has some shot at rehabilitation how will it...
Watching Miami in their latest game I could not believe how many 3 point shots they were draining. That has to cool off. When it does will they have a strong enough inside game to make up for it?
I ask because they look like the kind of team that can blow out an opponent in one game and then...
The SEC was writing their own narrative for years long before the narrative was supported by facts. They did this in both football and basketball. They even got credit for “good losses.” Do this consistently over time and it pays off. The operative word is “pays.”
My brother who is a surgeon says there is gallows humor in his field around the concept “The surgery was successful but unfortunately the patient died.”
And that all makes perfect sense. Even someone marginally conversant with what’s happened the last few years should be able to sense that something new and fresh is happening.
I was conflicted. From the get go he reminded me of some sociopaths I’ve dealt with in the past. All the red warning lights were flashing but I kept thinking maybe others knew something I didn’t. So I kept hoping. Longer than I should have.
One point for calling out the constant negativity of some of the fan base.
Minus two points for stretching hyperbole to the breaking point. Most Tech fans sound like fans of any team anywhere when going through rough times.
But I’ll keep monitoring your responses. 😊
Thanks. I’ll try to get over it but it will be hard. School colors have an historic meaning in academia that I was taught to honor. If I had someone in my immediate family at Tech, especially a child, it would be easy.
That and the fact that I have made fun of countless uga fans who did...
Wow. Here I was having fun throwing shade on our former coach (because there really isn’t any football news right now) and the whole mood got turned sour by yellow jackets turning on each other.
I guess TFG is still wreaking havoc on the fan base. Too bad. I thought we could all come...
