golf and baseball have been nationally competitive too at times. tech athletics as a whole has been pretty good and our womens teams have been great from what i can tell. probably easier to field a competitive team even with the academics in those other sports
5 years of college S&C, starting on special teams, and in general coming to an area of need is important. doesn’t matter how you slice it. we vacated a lot of spots on the secondary, we need SOMETHING there. chances of a guy who’s been in college this long contributing is much higher than a...
people telling on themselves as toxic fans.
“WEVE LOST SO MUCH TALENT WE ARE GONNA SUCK!”
*experienced player comes in for a position of need*
“JUST WHAT WE NEED ANOTHER CB!”
it’s pretty clear some people will never be happy. should find a new hobby if you’re just gonna do an eeyore...
i don’t really see anywhere we’ve taken a massive talent hit outside of gibbs and mason leaving and even then mcduffie is a very good rb and dontae showed us a lot last year. the rest of the players even if they had talent did not show it. particularly our senior lead defensive backfield who was...
tbh uga 21 is not really gross incompetence. there are plenty of better examples to point to. i get that it is annoying that it happened vs our most hated rivals but they pretty much did that to everyone not named bama and we were stuck playing a guy at qb who had no business playing the...
ultimately at the college and nfl level no one is ever satisfied with their line. it’s by far the hardest thing to build and basically the reason why football has largely been alabama vs everyone else every year for the last decade.
it’s always gonna be hard to build the o line here so i think...
this is actually very interesting and i believe is actual competition for sims. there may be an actual qb battle now. this guy coming out was pretty interesting. as a passer i’m not sure he’s really great but as a runner this guy is as electric as sims. not sure how his development has come...
f*** yeah!!! i wanted this guy the second i saw he hit the portal. i feel MUCH better about our passing game and i’m so excited to get a big body in. i hope he can get the opportunity to replicate what he did previously. double digit touchdowns would be so nice
he didn’t play in the spring game but he has been lifting with the team. seems like he should be on track to return by the start of fall barring a setback
yeah those are darren waller numbers 👀
i would love to have him. i think part of our red zone woes aside from having a poor o line has been no good jump ball WR. most of our WR seem like more shifty quick guys and up to this point TE has just been a warm body
some people would say northern colorado would beat us, but now they don’t want the players when they come here. it’s almost like they switch their tones to fit their agendas they push
deion sanders recently said they only took 5 players from hs teams and instead focused on the portal. he basically said all the same things. you don’t know how a freshman will handle college life/college football. you get a guy who transferred even if he doesn’t play you can see if he was able...
at least in the acc currently the only schools that seem committed to spend a crazy amount of money are clemson, miami and fsu. clemson is obviously a thorn in our side and last year was the first competitive game since 2014 but maybe with venables leaving they will regress and settle back down...
not a unique problem to tech. with nil money getting more crazy we are in a very tough arms race. need some alumni to put some money up and make the nil’s competitive
yeah depth is a huge deal and maybe 2 or 3 become big time starters. i would consider that a success.
i’m also glad we got some guys with 3/4 years of eligibility. if they end up starting early then we secured some pieces for multiple years
