Does anyone foresee a coach just using the portal for future recruiting? Just sign a few players, save on budget, and reel in transfers? Put out a help wanted sign and use it like red shirting?
Could be like free agency in baseball, but could change your roster every three years with older players.
CPJ retiring, Prez retiring, seemingly much bigger staff, and going after the previously unattainable.
Did the powers that be finally put football as a top priority? Did the purse strings get untied? Did we tell the Hill where to go? Are we really trying to run with the big boys?
Too much of...
Will ND discuss joining the ACC in football during the off season? They would have two chances to make the playoffs. A two loss Auburn, TCU, or Ohio State possibly making the playoffs would make me consider it. As things stand now, two losses and they are out every year. A 2 loss ACC champion...
Georgia Tech So. QB TaQuon Marshall, who entered the weekend leading the nation in scoring (18.0 ppg), scored two rushing touchdowns (32 and 1 yards), raising his season total to eight rushing touchdowns through just three games, which is tied for the seventh-most by a quarterback in Georgia...
showdown in the ACC. This was the scenario since the U joined up. I still think the championship title road goes through Atlanta, Blacksburg, and Clemson. I wish we were more of an underdog than we are.
With recruiting picking up steam, do you think some of the transfers:
Saw the writing on the wall
We're gently nudged out the door
Saw no playing time in the future
Got tired of CFB
Buckled under the academic pressure
Were not as good as we/they thought
Or just looking for more PT?
former Tech QB addressed departures, leaving early, transfers, etc. today on CFB live. Basically stated that EVERY recruit he ever talked to, without exception, thought they would have a career in the NFL. He continued, that less than one percent actually make it in the NFL. Sad state of...
Going into bowl season, it looked like any of the following:
I would dare say, maybe only two legit teams are out there. Wonder how we would fare against Bama? They beat Kentucky 34-6, which would have been our score except for a late surge...
According to my count, 10 teams lost this week. May have miss counted over three days of FB. Interesting how this shakes out. I can't envision any SEC team being ranked outside of Bama. Of course a 7 loss Ol Miss will probably sneak in. Can we get some votes or even sneak in?
If the season ended today, the Big 8,12 would be left out and it would be easy to set the brackets.
But, while Clemson & Louisville have their tough games behind them, the remainder have at least two tough games left on their schedule. My predictions.
Alabama loses to either LSU or Auburn...
I keep hearing we have a lack of communication along the offensive line....
I interpret that to mean our linemen either do not understand the blocking scheme or it is too complicated.
As a former offensive lineman, our scheme was "dumbed" down so any player knew who to block on any play. Teams...
It could be a cause for concern. To be really good, you need a minimum of 20 -25 seniors sprinkled through your lineup. On the reverse, it means we should have 72 players returning for 2017. I am hoping we will one day have balanced classes every year. Our roller coaster seasons have a direct...
