Posted on the basketball board, but just wanted to share the update here so it wasn't missed by the football-only folks:

Mission accomplished! With some additional donations, one of which was particularly exuberant, we have met the goal for the match. And now for the announcement you all may or may not have been waiting for but are still hopefully excited about nonetheless...
Appreciate all your generosity!
Haha! The website actually has a pronunciation guide, but basically it’s like Philanthropy except it starts with ‘At’ instead of ‘Phi’…or you can just call it J4A.
Hey Swarmers!
At the request of a well-liked poster on this board and to continue to promote an initiative that funds GT athletes through NIL and serves Atlanta charities with the help of a staff composed entirely of volunteer GT grads, I'm asking for you to support Jackets for Atlanthropy...
I like it! Will do, but I'm going to post it in the basketball forum because it will be basketball players participating in that particular event. Getting back to Zeek Biggers and everyone's favorite uniform model, Leo Blackburn: They were at Open Hand today and did some awesome work!
Just an update on this. We've raised $1060 in the first 2 days which is $2120 with the match. J4A would love to see Tech fans take full advantage of this matching opportunity to support our athletes. So let's see what we can do over today and the weekend. I'll provide another update on the...
Hopefully, the above info addressed your questions. Just announced today a matching donation which means that any donations from now through 7/28 will essentially count as double until we reach the goal of $7700 for our soup kitchen event on 8/6.
I think what you're saying is true in the sense that posting donation requests on an internet forum (even forums that are head and shoulders above the rest, like GT Swarm (and I mean that in the most pandering way possible)) every time an event comes up is not a sustainable way to raise funds...
That’s awesome! (Assuming you fell on the Atlanta side as opposed to the Athens side) Also the FAQ page on the website is helpful for those looking for more of this type of info.
Great question! The answer is somewhat complicated. I’ll try my best here, but let me know if something is unclear.
The Jackets for Atlanthropy website takes nothing off the top. Our board, charity liaisons, and graphic designer are volunteer only. The board chair and founder pays the web...
Yes, making a donation should be super easy. Just go to www.jacketsforatlanthropy.com and click the donate button in the top menu. It will explain the process from there and credit card is accepted. Feel free to click the ‘contact us’ link and send a message if you have any issues. Also, feel...
Thanks! The AJC wrote something on it as well: https://www.ajc.com/sports/georgia-tech/charity-minded-nil-collective-aiming-to-support-georgia-tech-athletes/ZSUFSON6RRCEJNFZYKGE5UKKME/
This is the culmination of a lot of effort from many different volunteers who love Tech. Please consider volunteering for this event, sharing about it with others, and/or making a donation. I'm happy to answer questions as well. Appreciate all the great support!
