Also the husk of the ACC will have value with a playoff auto-bid and more money than the G5 gets. I don't think it would be a total collapse like the P12, it will just be a backfill with AAC schools (or P2 castoffs if we can stall long enough).
The private schools would love to add Tulane and...
How in the world is Rutgers losing $50M with the B1G revenue?
Also note the $40M delta in profits between us and UGA. But we're totally gonna be competitive with them any day now fellas. Just have to try harder
I don't think he needs to at UNC. They always have talent, but the coaching isn't there. I think he sucks at managing a program, but he can install and call defenses.
There aren't enough ACC teams with homes for the league to totally implode (and we'd still have the rest of the TV deal + exit fees + GOR settlements). Losing Clemson/FSU would just drop us clearly below the B12, and we'd be in a good place to pick up a Vandy/Purdue/etc once they get cast off...
It's common knowledge, but they're all private so they can kinda just do whatever they want.
It isn't like their whole football team had a 4.0 and 15 other extracurriculars in high school. Or had daddies with money.
Yeah. They totally don't offer "athletic scholarships", but just so happen to recruit athletes that otherwise wouldn't sniff their (actual, not stated) admissions bar and then give them very generous "need-based" scholarships.
