Best wishes to GT in continuing to build to being an upper echilon college football team. Everyone has opinions on what needs to be done, who needs to be hired, how we need to recruit and all other aspects of getting to that level. I'll root like heck for success but I will also be real in my expectations and try not make knee jerk, uneducated opinions and comments. In trying to recreate some of this excitement I'm reading about, some of CGC's comments/tweets have come across to me as if he's here now to fix a dumpster fire of a program. I feel that coming off an 11 year run where your coach won 83 games, that is a slight to the former coach , his staff, and players. Like CPJ or not, he always did what he thought was best for the GT program and you won't find many folks in the college football world that have bad things to say about his character. Here are a few things we do know:

CGC took over a Temple program coming off back to back 10 win seasons and went 7-6 and 8-4 with a couple bad losses this year to inferior talent (FCS Villinova, MAC Buffalo). As has been said, he has to perform with results or all the hype around his hire will mean nothing.
As far as the staff he's bringing in, I hope his DC performs better than the effort we saw against Duke in their bowl game. Duke put up 28 on us and we put the ball on the ground 6 times, losing 3 fumbles and turned it over on downs twice more. Duke is our only common opponent so maybe not exactly apples to apples but regardless, both teams played Duke and they smoked the Owl defense.
Mind you, our defense didn't play well at times, but CNW was hired after Bowl season last year and only had one year in the flats with players he didn't get to recruit and didn't get any time (1 year) to show what he's capable of. At a non power 5 App St., he got 2-3* athletes who turned into darn good football players. Many folks roasted a very good football coach here that didn't get a fair shot.
Finally with CGC, he now has the keys to the kingdom as he turned the entire staff and looks to have 100% control over all aspects of the program.
So win and they will be ready to give you the keys to the City. Lose and I'm sure you'll be drug through the mud like CPJ was. Good luck.....
