In this scenario we would likely be one of the six highest ranked at large teams once the playoffs expand to 12. With the right coach I think the expanded playoffs are in reach.

The problem seems to be that the buyout goes down January 1, not the end of the season. There’s no way we’re waiting to fire him until January 1 that would be suicide considering we would miss out on the coaching carousel by then. The buyout is the same whether we fire him today or on November...

I don’t disagree with the article - this season is disappointing and I don’t see a bright future with this program under Pastner given his inability to recruit. Hope I’m wrong though

Pastner earns a pass this year given how last year ended, but if this year and next year are bad I’m not sure how long he can stick around
