  1. TV Series Not Worth Finishing

I thought the last one was pretty good and I applauded the way they kept the tension away from the occult elements. It must have been a great temptation to turn it all supernatural at the end. Instead, just the right mix. But, hey, I'm a huge Jodi Foster fan and she is terrific in this. The...
  2. Dontae to Giants Camp

I think Mason made the 49ers through a mini-camp. It's possible. Btw, Mason averaged - wait for it - 5.15 npc last year. I tell you he's always going to average about that. He just is. Dontae can do the same; he did at Tech. When he got the chance, that is. Thanks, TFG.

You wonder - well, I do - where that is coming from. The O is basically the same, was very effective in 2023, and is a year older. The D is a lot newer, but it also has Lockett back for his sophomore year. I don't know about the rest of you, but from what I saw last year he has immense...
  5. I'm starting to hate FSU fans.

    And mine too, of course.
  6. I'm starting to hate FSU fans.

STARTING!? You're STARTING to hate FSU fans!!?? I mean it took you long enough. I've hated them for - what is it now? - 30 years. The biggest collection of poor sports south of UNC is how I've always read them. I truly, truly hope the Jackets whip them in Ireland.
  7. 2024 Schedule Difficulty - Projections per CFN

Yet, remarkably, many - nay, all - other ACC schools end up with easier schedules than Tech does. Check the ratings in the original post. The closest Acc outfit is UVA at 24. True, some of this is NC schools wanting to play each other, but really now Tech's AD must have something to say about...
  8. 2024 Schedule Difficulty - Projections per CFN

Not all that surprised. The #1 obstacle standing between Tech and another winning year is our schedule. When, oh, when is this going to stop? Why does our athletic department continue to avoid scheduling to win? And, btw, I don't want to hear one word from people out there who give me the "But…...
  9. Reggie Ball interview airing tonight.

I remember in particular an interview with Chan where the reporter asked him if Reg hd the arm to play QB. Chan didn't have to answer. The look of complete disbelief that the question had been asked was enough. Reg was extremely talented. I also remember when Bobbie Bowdon came back to our...
  10. Option Football

I agree. I might also point out that Air Force led the NCAA in rushing last year. Again.
  11. Re-Watched some old wins on YouTube....

Well … Orwin and Allen maybe. Embry was, however, faster then all of them. And I liked all of them. Especially Godhigh. Update: I forgot about Lynch and I don't know why. He has to be the best AB on stats alone.

    Lordy, that was fun!
  13. Re-Watched some old wins on YouTube....

I watch the 2011 Tech - Kansas game regularly. As one of the commentators says, when the O was running well it was like watching a video game. And sure enough it is. I especially like watching Embry Peeples in that game. Paul never had a better AB and he's on display for the whole time...
  14. Option Football

And we would have got to watch J, C. Watts and Jack MIldren play QB in the NFL. Both would have been very dangerous QBs. Mildren reminded me of Joe Kapp, one of my all-time favorites. Ah, well. What could have been if the front office was willing to sign 4 instead of 2-3 QBs.
  15. Option Football

No. I know they do. But it is harder to adjust during a game that is already planned out and that involves more complex schemes. When you are only running 20 or so plays, including a couple of specials, then the whole process becomes a lot simpler and does not require a detailed game plan. This...
  16. Building an Offensive Line

Yep. Our practices under the TFG were a joke. It's no surprise that the OL suffered. That's particularly so because the positions are actually a) very hard to learn and b) depend on linemen being able to backfill for their teammates and c) that depends on working together and knowing each...

Well, that's what the program said. I remember because our coach brought it up in our weekly meeting after the game. Whether he actually was that big is a query, but he sure looked like it out there.
  18. 2024 Football Portal

Ahhhh. Reminds me of when we played Brown hen Kin King was their QB. The young left-hander = 6'3", 220. Our biggest DL = 5'10" 215. Yes, we did have a hard time with him. King would look the field over often with one of our D players hanging on to him. He would make the pass, usually complete...

On the staff, of course, and in this case specificallyTFG. Patenaude always featured running QBs - passing too, of course - before he ran into Collins. Then, all of a sudden, presented with a QB who could really run, he began to try to make him a straight drop back guy behind an OL that just...
  20. Option Football

Yes, let's not. I like option football and miss it, but that ship has sailed. The only point I was trying to make is that option teams usually don't have game plans but instead use plays and blocking schemes to exploit the opportunities opposing Ds give them as games progress. That's different...
