I asked the question in the off-season if the new staff had demonstrated in-game coaching ability... I have my answer...

I asked a very simple question: Is there evidence that demonstrates the ability of the new staff to effectively coach a ball game? If such evidence exists, I haven't seen it... I don't doubt that Stansbury and CGC know what they are doing, and I am NOT second-guessing anyone... The point...

Agreed - the two most painful aspects of the last decade were the absence of an effective defensive and some inexplicable personnel decisions... Again, this is not yet another "past good, future bad" post - all I was asking was for some evidence that the new staff can win coaching battles...

This is not/not intended to be a negative post about CGC and the new staff - I hope we exceed all reasonable expectations this Fall, and I hope we become the powerhouse we all hope the program will be... That said, one of the things I enjoyed most about CPJ was the display of coaching ability...

Everyone missed the obvious: Kevin Tisdel... I think he was a walk on and had how many kickoff returns for touchdown...

I'm old too (55 yo), but it's not change I have a problem with - it's the rah-rah/hype train/juiced up thing that grows a bit tiresome... I liked CPJ's approach to the game, the media, life, and so on... Straight-effin shooter... Been around long enough, you come to appreciate people of that...

As much as I liked CPJ and option football, I'll never understand why he insisted on playing a QB who ran 100% of the playbook ineffectively over one that ran 50% of it effectively... Watching the decision-making at QB was mind-numbing...
